In short: Well worth it
In full: Quick course but with a few killer hills (one from 4 miles to 5 miles)
Finish funnel not exactly where you think it'll be
Would prefer km markers rather than mile markers especially for a 10km race

In short: A cracking 10k
In full: Nice race this one ran on mainly quiet rural roads. Well marshalled, well organised, lovely weather (as always), chip timing - and cheap too. Bit of a tough finish but you can't run a race in Barnsley without hills! Well done to all involved.

In short: A no frills run. Nice and simple. The run was a good mixture of up and down for bit of a challenge!

In full: My first 10k and I did it in under the time I was hoping for. Glad some of the experienced runners thought it was hilly, I was thinking maybe it was just because I've not done a real race before. Maybe I should try another?

In short: Pleasant enough. Hilly towards the end.
In full: Quite pleasant. Nice area.

Nasty hills towards the end really spoil the feel-good factor. Also, mile markers (as opposed to km markers) were a confusing choice and don't help when trying to time/pace yourself.

Will probably enter next year, but I have seen many better courses.

In short: Only my 2nd ever 10k race (or any other distance come to that!). The organisation seemed ok for a local even but the distance markers were in miles (in a 10k race?) and I didn't see many of them. The volunteers and marshalls were friendly.
In full: I found it odd to have cars driving along the road whilst I was running. Great weather! Lots of hills - especially in the last few km .. and I ran out of steam and ended up walking a bit. Oops. Will know for the next time I do it though - because I will.

In full: I have just come back to running after some time off from an illness at the start of the year and this was my first race! More hills then I would of liked as i've not added to many in to my training yet, however a good race with a good mix of runners. I am gutted by my time - 14 mins over my PB however i've started the road to recovery. Please note anyone thinking of running this race it is hilly!!
