In short: Hilly, spectacular views, and brilliantly organised
In full: The hills don't come as a suprise - you know when you sign up for it and the best scenery of any half in this part of the world. More water stations than you can shake a stick at with bottles. Just to note, virtually all runners seemed pretty experienced with a far higher percentage of club vests on show than at all other races I've done, so perhaps not the most beginner friendly (through no fault of its own). Great race and a positive bargain.

In full: 2 words of advice ....Hill train .....the hills are not small or short they are steep and go one for what seems like forever ....besides that its an excellently run race set in beautiful Derbyshire countryside. I will be back ...its not going to beat me that easy ...

In short: an exhilarating run
In full: A brilliant setting for a half-marathon. However Eyam is a small village and parking can be quite tight.

Quite a challenging event. I felt a sense of achievement on finishing this. Heavy rain up on the hills. I was like a drowned rat by the time I finished (very appropriate for Eyam).

A very steep hill at 9 miles. At that stage I found it was more efficient to walk up it than try to run. If I do this again, I'm going to put in a lot more hill work in the gym.

In short: Can't imagine a more beautiful race and downhills to match the uphills
In full: Was tough but the scenery made it well worth while - think bluebell filled woods and rolling green hills - so well worth taking a good look around you on route and taking your mind off aches and pains!
