In short: Thank you marshalls for standing in the rain all morning! In full: I ended up doing 15 rather than 21 purely because I would have been too cold and wet to be out for another hour but as ever it was a great event. Just a shame we couldn't have had a dry / warmer day. Date of review: March 16, 2008

In short: Superb marshalling and organisation despite the dreadful weather In full: A very well organised race. Car park well sign posted and easy to find. All mile markers very visible. Marshalling and water stations were fabulous - everyone was well prepared, professional and very encouraging. Considering the low cost of this race the organisers have done a fanstatic job. Great FLM preparation. Thank you! Date of review: March 16, 2008

In short: Well organised scenic and great marshalling In full: The marshalls were great. Always there to tell you the right direction to go and very friendly and encouraging. Even craked a few jokes on the way which was nice!! The weather was not great but I'd assume that was the case for everyone today throughout the UK. Its a great way to get in your long run(s) if you did the 21, before London. The car park I parked in was a 5 minute walk from the end of the race and no traffic to get in the way so that was great. All in all a great race and prep for the big one!! Date of review: March 16, 2008

In short: Superb organisation that puts a lot of the 'bigger' races in the shadee In full: It gives me great pleasure to review this race. I had read the reviews beforehand but was suprised at what a pleasant, well organised, fulfilling race this was.
Plenty of free parking close to the start and well signposted was a perfect start. Course was undulating with a slight hill to start, but it was great to tick off the miles knowing that at 9 miles you had a 6 mile loop to mix things up again and then could join the slower runners on the second 6 miler to make life more interesting. Water stations supplied orange squash which helped pick the legs up and water stations came thick and fast. Mile markers were clearly visible. I thouroughly enjoyed the race and feel far more prepared for London having done it. Stangely though - did anyone else notice the large number of 'roadkill' toads on the course!!!! Bizarre.
I'll be back next year - definately if they keep the price at £9.00! Date of review: March 16, 2008

In short: perfect pre-marathon preparation (I hope) In full: The car park was already getting full by the time I arrived half an hour before the race start but it was well signed and there were others that may have been less busy. The marshals were great helping me find the loos in the Leisure Centre and then the start. Indeed throughout the race, their support and encouragement was second to none. The weather was a relentless dampening drizzle and the wind seemed never to be behind me. I was very unsettled by cars on one section (that we had to do twice) that seemed to roar past far too close and too fast. Nevertheless, a great race to prove to myself that the LFM in less than a month isn't going to be as painful as I had once feared Date of review: March 16, 2008

In short: Great training run for Paris! In full: A very wet day and we got lost on the way there arriving 20 minutes late. But very helpful marshalls pointed us in the right direction. Good mix of runners, many using it as a training run for London, Paris or Edinburgh. Great enthusiastic watering points with plenty water and orange juice. Lots of toilet options at the end and a great cup of tea and piece of cake for £1! Date of review: March 16, 2008

In short: Perfect London build up In full: Just got back. The weather was a bit grim - the marshalls weren't! They were very friendly and did an excellent job. Gently undulating course that, on a brighter day would have been quite beautiful. Some of the route was a bit random - at one point we were jogging between lines of cars in a car park - but that was fine. A few car drivers were all too ready to splash runners unfortunate enought to be by puddles at crucial moments, but you'll always get that sort of motorist I suppose! Good water stations - practically spot on mile markers, nice tea and cake at the end, easy, free parking. Thumbs up! ;) Date of review: March 16, 2008

In short: Great established race In full: The second time I've done this race and it is top notch. Very well organised, lots of friendly marshalls, lots of water stations doing water and squash. A top race.
I would love a T-shirt as well as a medal to show off my exploits and I'd happily pay for it. Date of review: March 16, 2008
