In short: Excellent organisation. Fantastic first class marshallers.Wind!!! Arghhhhhhh!!!!
In full: The first half was varied and scenic with good support. The second half lacked the support and the 2-3 mile stretch up and down the rowing centre was a little demoralising due to the wind. By the way, can we cancel the wind next year. Marshallers were the best I have ever encountered. Every single one urged you on and offered bags of support. Thankyou all. Organisation was great with ample parking. All this and a PB. Will be back.

In short: Great organisation & support - tries very hard, but a couple of fatal flaws
In full: Course for first half is best yet, but the endless loops at the rowing lake have to be changed - could we not go to Radcliffe and avoid one loop back on the lake? Race fee for the half seems steep, but for the full quite reasonable - goody bag distinctly lacking in goodies - 5 leaflets, a bottle of water and a snack bar? I seemed to miss a lot of mile markers in the first half and don't think it was just me. Rant over - the marshalls were wonderful, the organisation (down to human vaseline dispensers and more seriously the genuine medical support) ran like clockwork and the overall atmosphere was great. I'll be back, and smiling.

In short: Great course, well organised considering the number of participants
In full: Thoroughly enjoyed the course (The Half), brilliant to run through the university grounds and Wollaton park. The finish on the grass area was amazing, the noise!

Crowd support was also excellent throughout, especially around the housing estate prior to Wollaton Park, it was like the GNR in parts!

I had a great day and will definately do it again next year.

My only gripes were:
-Missed a couple of mile markers, where were they?? The mile markers are vital. Apparantly some were only on one side of the road and others had been turned around the wrong way.

-Its so expensive to enter.

My two minor negatives though were swamped by the massive enjoyment I had on the day.

In short: Great first half-marathon - big but friendly!
In full: This was my first ever half, in fact first race and although a huge event it was well run and easy to work out where things were. The support really kept me going and the fact that they had the corporate teams events and fun runs made it really feel like there was something for everyone and that the whole city was involved.

In short: A special day - thanks to all concerned
In full: Whilst some have been critical of the secoond half of the race, i for one enjoyed the whole race from start to finish. Yes the bit around Holme Pierpoint was a struggle but that's what you need, makes you appreciate the more populated parts of the course. I think the course is now as good as it can be. Not a big fan of mass participation runs but this was a good one and will be back for next year

In short: Good half for beginners, cracking support
In full: The start felt a bit chaotic, the trees all had time markers on but when we got there they were already moving people up so we had no idea where we should be. The fun runners were then breathing down our necks, they didn't seem to understand that they weren't starting with us.
My first half marathon and the support was tremendous, particularly on the way into Wollaton Park and through it.
Goody bag was a bit disappointing really but it wasn't the reason I was doing it in the first place.
We parked at the park & ride site and walked it, it was rather windy along the embankment but it made for an easy exit, lots of people seemed to just be sitting in their cars waiting for the roads to reopen.
I managed to get both water and lucozade at all of the stations despite being nearer the back than the front which was a great relief.
Didn't get a massage due to the huge queues but the organisation was good, loads of loo's, well run kit tent etc.
Definitely do it again next year.

In short: Great race in parts
In full: My first full marathon so i comment with an open mind. I really enjoyed the first half and was well on course for a nice sub 4hr full, but i have to say the 'LAKE' was dreadful and mind numbing. I also found there were NO gels on the second half at all. The wind was terrible but thats nothing we can plan and overall i enjoyed it, and i have to comment that all the marshals were great especially the lovely marshal who helped relieve my crippling cramp at mile 24! Thanks marshals especially on the second 13..

In short: Great atmosphere, first half hilly, flat second half but the wind round the rowing lake is a killer.
In full: Second time doing the marathon, great course only let down by the open section around the rowing lake that's exposed to the wind. Other than that I'd recomend this event to anyone, friendly marshalls and excellent organisation throughout - everything you'd want from a big marathon.

In short: Excellent organisation made for a great 1/2 marathon again at Nottingham.
In full: I'm not sure it was any flatter than last year, alhough I did get a PB!
