In short: A fantastic race, amazing support, toilets galore, interesting route, excellent goody bag. Deserves the accolades it receives. In full: A wonderful day and a PB. I've done this race once before and just because the second half can be described as flat doesn't mean that it is any easier than the much more undulating first half! Those 3 or so miles around the rowing centre were emotional however so was the level of support. Thank you to everyone. Some of the best support from locals and marshallers alike I have ever seen. In short: Great organisation, friendly marshals, well spaced drinks, plenty of toilets. A bit hillier than expected though, with some dull long stretches of road Date of review: September 13, 2010

In short: Well organised marathon. In full: My third marathon following Berlin and London so i wasn't sure how i would find it even though i have done the half several times. I have to say i really enjoyed it, i don't think it's the easiest marathon, mainly due to the headwind which you are likely to experience coming from Holme Pierrepont and along the Trent and I wasn't too keen on the gravel path in the same section. Scenery wise you can't ask for much better in a city marathon and although it's pricey imagine how much the police and council charge for that many road closures. All in all i say well done to the organisers and i will be back but only when i'm not chasing a PB. Date of review: September 13, 2010

In short: ++A Hilly first half with a blustery second!++ In full: Excellent organisation from the minute TomTom got us to basically where we needed to be! Parked, toileted, started all fine. Agreed there were one or two bottle necks, and slightly a little too many switch backs but nothing to serious. However...the Watersports section was as tough as everyone made out before hand! Amazing respect and thanks to the St Johns teams out on the course. I was fortunate not to require their help but saw plenty that did sadly. Many congrats and thanks to all the marshalls and organisers too. All good. Date of review: September 13, 2010

In short: As a first timer was absolutely brilliant. In full: This was the fist time i have completed a marathon, and i wasn't dissapointed. The organisation was great, the crowds and various well wishers were fab, including fellow runners who cheered me on. The route once out of town was lovely especially running right past Pierrepont Hall. The only downside was a slight lack of toilets on the course, and some seemed to be locked. In short: If ever a marathon event could be described as a thoroughlu uplifting experience, this was it! In full: I got home from this event absolutely delighted with the whole day (apart from pain of the marathon itself!). I thought the event was hassle-free, loads of toilets, efficient kit drop-off, lots of freebie energy products, loads of encouraging and helpful stewards, good support and an interesting route for someone unfamiliar with Nottingham, like myself. I can't think of a single negative aspect to the event. Date of review: September 13, 2010

In short: The organisation was fantastic, I had a fun. In full: i didnt get my best time but this is one i will do again, organisation was fantastic, the race village was good, car parking was 1st class. my only negative comment is that the marathon runners should have gone off about an hour before, the first 3 miles was a bit tight and i couldnt get into my pace. everything else was realy good highly recomended Date of review: September 13, 2010

In full: A very well organised race with plenty of easy parking at the race site, plenty of toilets at the start and well stocked, frequent drinks stations on the course. The marshals were great and there was plenty of support at various points along the route. The first half of the race had a few hills, but there were also some downhills and the second half of the race was pretty much flat, making fast times possible. Date of review: September 13, 2010

In short: A race of two halfs. The first half is around the city, with a few hills, the secon half is around Holme Pierrepont and is flat. Seemed to be more supporters in the second half this year. The marshalls, st johns and drinks station people were great. Date of review: September 13, 2010

In short: My first time half, great atmosphere & very well organised with lots of support from marshals & spectators alike. Found course hilly in places & unfortunately was running on empty after 10 miles (still completed in 207:50) Date of review: September 13, 2010
