In short: a warm day In full: good flat course but really really warm today, don't remember the nasty climb approaching mile 11 last time i ran this but i'll put it down to the heat today.great marshells, very well organized. 10/10 Date of review: September 9, 2007
In short: Excellent course with matching excellent organisation - well done Ely!s In full: Being only a few miles from home, no excuse not to enter. Glad I did, excellent organisation and a good atmosphere. I'm be back!! Date of review: September 9, 2007
In short: good course for a fast time, in the right conditions In full: I know it can get hotter than it was today, but I really struggled over the last few miles today. The course is fine, very flat and well set up for fast times, one endless stretch in a straight line into the breeze seemed to take forever and sapped my will to live. Missed PB by about 50 seconds due to significant slowing in the last two miles or so. Will be back. Date of review: September 9, 2007
In short: Fast, lots of long flat stretches of country road, but hot weather! In full: I really liked the fact that you were running a lot of very straight and flat stretches but I know others who find this boring - good if you want to try for a PB! Date of review: September 9, 2007
In short: right so pluses, fast course, excellent marshalling and nice medal. the downside being the very warm conditions and the extremley dull fen countryside....which gos on and on and never changes. i though id lost th will to live l Date of review: September 9, 2007
In short: Enjoyable Sunday morning run...!! In full: Last couple of miles seem to drag but I think that was more to do with the heat.. Will definately be back next year.. A special thanks to all those involved!! Date of review: September 13, 2006
In short: A great race and I would say a must do for all runners... In full: This is a very well organised event and even by running standards, very friendly. Great t-shirts too-pity you had to buy them. The course is very flat, but if you don’t like long, very long straight roads, you may want to think again. Enough water and the sponges were a nice touch, given the heat on the day. The mile markers were ok I think, perhaps one or two may have been a little off. Good support through the villages, which was nice and the use of the local school as start/finish area was great. Far better than the crush that is village hall events. My race was actually 16 miles (3 miles before)run at marathon pace in preparation for Berlin, but I’ll be back next year to see how well I can cover the distance. Only criticism and this is personal to me I suspect; what is it with medals ? Just what are you supposed to do with them. I didn’t take mine and in my view, organisers would be better off dropping this ‘novelty’ and think about t-shirts as part of their overall marketing strategies. After all, who ever gets to see you race medal?
