In short: Excellent! In full: Slightly hillier than expected but fantastic scenery made up for it! Everything was so well organised, there where plenty of water stations and even snacks on-route! Very friendly, even for those who finished over 5:30. Would definatly do it again. Date of review: October 4, 2005

In short: Stunning In full: Marvelous, couldn't fault it in any meaningful way. One suggestion now its chip timed - put timer mats at the start and finish of the steep hill at the start and the mile 17, 18, 19 and 20(!) hill and give a "king of the mountains" jersey/prize to the fastest over them. Loved it, will recommend it. A perfect antidote to fighting through the crowds in London, New York, Paris, Newcastle...... Cheers to the Ozzie guy who went from his final training run in 28deg in Brisbane to this and ran with me for about 10 miles at 8 min pace (I was the one in the red t-shirt). Huge respect to the guy running breathing through a stoma (fast bu**er as you were). Date of review: October 4, 2005

In short: First ever marathon if the rest are organised as well as this I've been converted In full: Fantastic views, friendly runners, so very well organised, marshalls deserve a pat on the back, few spectators but those who made the effort were greatfully received by everyone and to top it off started with a pipe band with a lone piper around half way. Thankyou Inverness i'm already looking forward to next year. Who needs city/town marathons! Date of review: October 3, 2005

In short: My first marathon, absolutely superb in all respects. In full: I had a fantastic day. Two or three steep hills but there was a few miles in the middle which were flatish. The scenery is fabulous, mountains and lochs and forests all in one. The few supporters along the way were very enthusiastic. Organisation was tremendous. An excellent goody bag, high quality t-shirt and hot showers! What more can you ask for! Forget the city marathons, being dropped off in the middle of nowhere and left to head back to civilisation and a fantastic reception is my kind of race!

In short: Good 'un really enjoyed it.... (Aye okay maybe "enjoyed" isn't the right word but you know what I mean!). Scenery would be even better if they cut down all the trees to give you a view of the loch.... Date of review: October 3, 2005
