In short: Always worth doing In full: My 4th time and still one I'd always look to do again. An undulating course but with most of the inclines in the first 4 miles and the last mile downhill, a sensible strategy can make it a PB course.
First half mile (including a sharp left turn)can be quite tight but most seemed to observe the start position signs.
Only minor quibble is that I'd prefer bottles at drinks stations rather than cups. Date of review: October 25, 2015
In short: Great well organised race, nice course In full: First time I've done this and really enjoyed it.Thought it was good value, very efficiently organised and friendly.Loved the inspirational signs at mile 8 and the technical top is certainly quite distinctive! Date of review: November 2, 2014
In short: Ran it last 2 years got PBs last 2 years. In full: My favourite Half Marathon bar none. No problems parking, no problems registering all like clockwork. Love the scenic route through Clumber Park. I have ran this event for the last 2 years and got a PB both times. I will be back every year if i am able to. Date of review: November 1, 2014
In short: Brilliant event! In full: My first time doing this run, and I loved it! The atmosphere is brilliant, everyone seems to be in a really good mood and the Marshalls are excellent! The hill at the start wasn't as bad as I had expected and from then on its a good mix of slight up and downs. I even managed a PB, which was an added bonus. I will definately be doing this again next year. Date of review: October 29, 2014
In short: Another great year for Worksop In full: The climb at the start doesn't get any easier, after that its gently rolling hills, some say the route is bland but clumber park in autumn what's not to like. Work hard on the flats to enjoy the great last mile & you'll get your time back. Great race as it is every year, bag drop bit random but hey ho. Well done again Worksop. In short: Glad I made the effort In full: Glad I decided to run this event. The first mile is mostly uphill as you leave the town, before an undulating three-mile stretch along Ollerton Road. Eight miles of the course take you through the National Trust's Clumber Park with its bright autumn colours. The last mile leads you back downhill into town – a welcome relief after running into a biting wind for the previous two miles. Support from the marshals and spectators was excellent along the route. The sponges at around the nine-mile mark were a nice touch too, as were the humourous signposts offering encouragement. Perhaps the one thing lacking was a medal at the end. Personally I would prefer this to the technical T-shirt, given the choice. Certainly this is a well-organised event with a scenic course and a friendly atmosphere. I'd do it again. In short: Really happy I entered this race, very scenic route and more undulating than hilly! Only one gripe was the start, very slow runners towards the front of the narrow start made for a frustrating first half mile! Will definitely be back here next year.. Date of review: October 27, 2014
