In short: Superb race. Very well organised. Great atmosphere and so much attention to detail the last post was very moving.
In full: This is a must do race. Wonderful support from the marshals and crowds. Jelly beans, nice touch!

In short: Bitton road runners deserve a medal for this brillant event
In full: Every year I say never again and I always come back.I need my yearly dose of mud, hills, the lake, falling into the river/bog , cheerful marshals and of course the happiest runners you could ever meet. A gem of a race and despite the aches and pains I'll be back next year.

In short: Great banter, brilliant people and fantastic course! I recommend comprehensive training before taking this on!
In full: My first race ever - since giving up 25 years of smoking 6 months ago. This race and the subsequent training was my inspiration to stay off the fags and my focus for the last 3 months to keep the weight off that started to pile on after quitting.
Having read about the race, I thought I knew what to expect but there was nothing I had read and no training I had done that actually prepared me for the terrain and the transition between the terrains (particularly coming off the ploughed fields onto the long up-hill lane into the steeper wooded section) - this course had รก bit of everything for everybody!
Having spoke to as many people as I could on the way round, it seems to me that everybody had their own personal reasons for being there and some great stories - I just want to take the opportunity to congratulate one guy I ran with for a few minutes who told me he had lost 9 stone in the last 14 months; I didn't get his name but I hope like me he is at work today, hurting like hell but feeling a good deal of self-satisfaction for finishing the aptly named Sodbury Slog. Great race, great day! I'm looking forward to doing it again next year.

In short: Mud, mud, GLORIOUS mud! Well done Bitton RR for such a superb race
In full: Never realised I would need swimming skills for this one - tip for next year KEEP MOUTH CLOSED when in bogs! After 2 showers was still picking the muck out of my ears! Absolute blast - nervous beforehand, being a "virgin slogger", but will definitely be back next year (perhaps wearing shoes with a little grip?). Loved the extra "weight training" of wearing my mud-clogged shoes up the hills! Especially loved the crocodile?! If you are up for losing all your dignity this is definitely the race for you! Lots of laughs! See you there next year & get those entries in EARLY!

In short: Simply the best run of the year. Fantastic atmosphere; brilliant, supportive and happy marshalls; Loads of mud; and HOT TUBS! what more could one ask for!
In full: After a torrid summer this race has restored my faith in running. Almost everybody has a smile on their face, almost all the time. There is some glorious countryside, a testing hill, roman remains, the lake and just how much mud? I especially like running muddy down the front drive of the manor house. If next years entries were available, mine would be in the post now.

Thanks to everyone who works so hard to put this race on. As long as I am able I will be there.

In short: Fantastic event that puts many others to shame
In full: Only my second x-country race and I think I will now be a regular at these events, certainly at the sodbury slog. Never thought I'd have so much fun getting wet, cold and muddy!

Can't fault the organisation, very impressed with the number of marshalls who showed up on the day. Superb value for money, more than decent goodie bag and excellent long sleeved t-shirt, just the job for winter training. Ran round at the back with a mate and there were plenty left when we finished.

The minute's silence on rememberance Sunday was also a nice touch.

EXCELLENT event - other race organisers please take note. This is how it should be done.

In short: The best race I've done EVER!!!
In full: The best fun I've ever had doing a race!! The bog, marsh, river, slurry (yes slurry) was all fabulous! You could hear the crowds oohs, aahs, gasps & cheers at the horrendous boggy patches for about a mile before you got there! Such fun! The goody bags were brilliant! Got mineral water, High5 gel, cereal bar, giant Mars bar, a pen & of course a long sleeve t-shirt - well worth it!

There were tonnes of Marshalls and everyone was game for a laugh! I saw Darth Vader, nuns & a vicar, batman & robin amongst many others! And I think Superman won the race?? I will defintely be back! There were a few bottle necks at the styles but they're not growing the race size so it's not really a problem.
