In short: Without a doubt the best race of the entire year
In full: I always look forward to this one and with good reason. Despite a freezing cold plunge up to the neck at one point, so much fun battling through the mud and the water, cheered on by the friendly spectators. Bitten Road Runners have covered all the little touches that make a difference (jelly babies!) and the organisation is top notch. Leave your watch at home for this race (the mud would ruin it anyway!) and just enjoy the experience as the waits at the obstacles will slow you down no end.
Just one tiny niggle in that in the hurry not to have runners in the road too long at the start, the klaxon went off and some of us were still making our way out of the school gate to the road (the narrowing of the gate acted as a funnel & slowed the crowd down). Just a couple more minutes would have done it! Other than that, see you again next year!

In short: Very enjoyable (once it was over)
In full: First time in this event. Lots of mud, some of it from the backs of cows, and deep water. On the upside, great organisation, lots of friendly marshals and plenty of support.

In short: Great fun
In full: Slog was the word this year, oo-er that clay! That was hard but great fun. Brilliant, cheerful marshalls who must have been frozen. Can't wait for next year. Just wish the hot tubs were back and the showers were warm

In short: Mud Glorious Mud!!
In full: Once again another great Slog, this is my third year running the Slog and it just gets better and better. The change to the river near the end was a pleasant (!?) Surprise and the band on the common was a really nice touch. The marshals as always were friendly and encouraging, and there was great crowd support on the way round especially by the river! Hats off to Bitton Road Runners for organising another fantastic race

In short: WOW/YUK!!
In full: Very well organised run with plenty of very supportive marshalls and spectators. Not a race to get a PB. Queueing up to get over the stiles was a bit of a drag and I got very cold. The mud and water was treacherous at times and very smelly. I'm sure the spectators enjoyed it.
