In short: Really good off road race
In full: Having watched since doing the slog back in 2000 I was really looking forward to this race. I thought that this years event was more like a race than the challenge it was in 2000. Which for me was great. Very well organised and quick upload of results. I'll be back next year.

In short: A very good mud-fest
In full: This year the course was different but still as pretty good. Didn't seem as contrived in this format - felt like a pretty good circular course. 7/10. No where near as good as Rough and Tumble or Dursley Dozen..... but pretty good for those doing their first major off-road run.

In short: course very similar - much muddier
In full: was a little concerned with the route change but it was still very close to last years, just much of it the other was around... the river/stream was missed, but replaced with much more mud... not many races where i think they could do with a few more hosepipes at the end !!!!!!

In short: Fabulous race, great marshalls, great fun
In full: Thanks to everyone who made this race possible. It is the most fun race race I have attended so far. The marshalls were friendly and encouraging (and I can't thank the lady who kindly helped solve my lost number crisis enough).
It is muddy, has some hills and some road. I really enjoyed the varied terrain. The que to get through one stretch of water was the only downside to an otherwise fantastic race.

Thanks everyone!

In short: Not all it's cracked up to be...
In full: I was very much looking forward to this race, given it's very high ratings and having spectated it last year - but sadly this year something was missing. The atmosphere was fine, but lacked a spark. The organization was good, but having run over 50 other off-road races, it was nothing spectacular. The course was fine, but let's be clear, this is not the most challenging race ever, nor does it take you through the most spectacular countryside. As an introduction to off-road running this race is fine, but if it's all you do, you will be missing out on some real gems (especially in the south west / wales region). We are also trying to work out how to divide a £50 voucher for a pair of trainers, amongst the five members of the team prize!

In short: Mud and fun, with the cheeriest marshalls yet
In full: This is a cracking race - thoroughly enjoyed it. The marshalls and supporters were first class and the organisation was excellent.

Definitely one to put in the diary for next year.

I'm sure it was a tad more than 8.5 miles though...
