In short: What fun to kick start my running..... In full: I have been having lots of problems lately, with my injuries to my knees, although I had not done much training, I needed this to realise how much fun running was!!
Very execellent organisation for a club event, and most definition will make this a regular on my calender! Date of review: November 15, 2010

In short: Lots of mud but shame about the Pig Trough In full: Very enjoyable run, the hill was quite a challenge, the muddy bogs were a great laugh and the sticky mud was never ending.
The only problem was the pig trough, took a good 10 minutes queing to get into it and then it was a stop/start affair of getting through it. Was definitely cooling down too much with all the waiting. Really needs looking at. Date of review: November 15, 2010

In short: One pig trough too far In full: A well organised race with a great, friendly atmosphere but far too much slippery-slidey mud and 3 waist-deep troughs of cold, muddy water. Surely one or two would have been enough? :-) An experience but not to be repeated anytime soon! Date of review: November 15, 2010

In short: everyone should do this at least once... In full: third time and the hardest one this time, but my fault for taking it for granted.... you have so much fun, but I kind of forgot how physically demanding this also is....
your body moves 9 miles, but your feet do about 18 (slipping backwards sideways etc etc !)
brilliant organisation, bag drop off/collection perfect, nice warm up beforehand again, etc etc Date of review: November 15, 2010

In short: Once again, the Sodbury Slog shows how it should be done In full: Apologies for lack of feedback in previous years, I missed getting my entry in time last year but this will be a regular in my racing calendar as long as I am running.
Personally I can't say I enjoyed the slog as much as in previous years, but this is due to my own lack of fitness and does not reflect on the event itself. As well as being a lot of muddy fun, it's a good tough training run and not really one to do so soon after injury.
The organisation was out of this world as usual, the last post and two minutes' silence is always a nice touch and well observed.
Lots of camaraderie on the way round, I was struggling with my back so thanks to everyone who enquired about my well-being.
Fantastically well marshalled and supported, thanks for all your encouragement and good humour.
Brilliant value for money and a great goodie bag with proper goodies (mars bar, flapjack, biscuits..), my only slight gripe was there were no t-shirts left in a large when I finished but hey I need to slim down to a medium anyway! Besides, the quality is fantastic.
Other race organisers should take note, there's a reason why this event attracts more runners than a lot of major town's half marathons.
Thank you Bitton Road runners, see you at the Hanham Horror. Date of review: November 15, 2010

In short: Thank God it's over In full: About a mile or so of this organised hell was good - the bits on the roads. The rest of it was like a terrible, terrible nightmare from which I couldn't awaken. Nothing on earth would persuade me to do this again - it's tarmac for me from here on in. It was, however, extremely well organised, the support was fantastic and the organisation faultless. Just a shame about the course. And yes, I knew about the conditions beforehand - I only entered to try to win my club's off-road competition series! Date of review: November 15, 2010

In short: I've never enjoyed a race so much! In full: First time runner and had an amazing time.
I can't believe how much I enjoyed the cold wet mud but it was so enjoyable thanks to the FANTASTIC support all the way round the course from the spectators and the marshalls. Organisation was excellent as well as a great race bag at the end.
Leave it to the Bristolians to show others how it should be done! Date of review: November 15, 2010

In short: I haven't laughed so much in ages.... In full: I absolutely loved it! My first year of doing it but will definitely be back. Leave your watch, your ego and your dignity at home and have an insane Sunday morning of bog snorkelling. The support was amazing, the marshalls very uplifting and the scenery great (although I probably spent more time looking at the feet). Organisation was faultless and shower facilities great. The 2 minute silence and last post was very poignant and a reminder of how lucky we are to be able to run. Please don't change a thing (not sure I was saying that whilst mud-skating up the hill, but ....). Great job Bitton. Date of review: November 15, 2010

In short: On the whole a good fun run (could do with being 10 miles though) In full: The event could only have been improved by a better pa system (or pa operator, the feed back and volume was not good) and during the 2 mins silence the only sound was the slamming doors of the portaloos (that detracted from the poinientcy of the silence).
On the whole a big thank you to the organisers Date of review: November 15, 2010
