In short: beautiful day, lovely hills, excellent race, can't wait til next year! In full: My first half and even though I can bearly walk today.......I'm hooked....next! Date of review: February 6, 2006
In short: Model organisation, short steep hills (up & down). Good race to run. In full: A good race with no problems with parking or getting ready. The race started on time and the course was scenic and traffic-free (almost). Three sharp ascents (not bad) and two steep descents (worse). Only question is why smaller events have chip timing and this doesn't. Good number of masseurs too. Date of review: February 6, 2006
In short: The race & course are good. Goody bag would help - no nearby shops. In full: I enjoyed the race very much. A small goody bag with a banana or chocolate bar would have been appreciated as I did not find any shops near the finish. Date of review: February 6, 2006
In short: Good race with a few challenging hills In full: I'm a bit biased as I improved my time by 7 minutes from my first half marathon and I reckon this one was a little hillier! Good group of people running and well organised. Particularly liked the finish through the park. Date of review: February 6, 2006
In short: A great race In full: This was my second go at Watford and despite finishing nearly 15mins slower than last time (don’t ask!) it’s still a great race. Very friendly & supportive marshals, which you certainly appreciate a lot more when things aren't going to plan.
Medals would get my vote for next time – when you’re on the course as long as I was you feel like you deserver one!
In short: Excellent race but the start was a little bit narrow In full: Actually pleasantly surprised about how rural Watfords surrounding area can be. Ok we crossed the M25 a couple of times but around 7 of the miles were spent looking at fields.
Apart from the start which was a bit narrow for the first mile, 2000 people running along a path ment for 3. The course was excellent with only a couple of nasty hills.
Around 4 drink stops and a clock at half way, and only a small amount of dodging of traffic. Date of review: February 6, 2006
