In short: wonderful, beautiful, spectacular!
In full: My first mara, took me over five hours but with views like that I didn't mind too much! Great support, amazing scenery and a good atmosphere. It is tough but there are nice bits too- the long descent after the first big hill gives you time to look around and really enjoy the countryside. I'd reccomend it for anyone, as long as they aren't too bothered about their time- it is a race you should do for yourself, not for the clock!

In short: Great organisation, scenery, support, marshalling
In full: 1st time for me at this race, and overall very impressed. Organisation was very good, as was the marshalling, and support. Being in Snowdonia some great views, and for once actually being able to see them! I was still recovering from Abingdon last week, so took it steady, but think that although it is tough - Great Langdale Marathon is more challenging. The final descent was a toughie though on the grass.

Also - I thought it was quite pricey, but guess a lot went to cover the police/buses etc. Thanks to all the volunteers, especially those on the tea table!

There were a LOT of prizes too given out for the fast folk!

In short: A classic race - no doubt
In full: However...I was amazed that the roads were not fully closed, particularly from miles 12 to 21 or so. With runners snaking over the road, cars and motorbikes were coming from both directions - it's an accident waiting to happen. At one point at about mile 20, I saw two horses abreast, two cars passing each other and one runner overtaking another. That's six - SIX - abreast on a country road. Madness! I would like to see their risk assessment - just for a laugh.
No medal? £8 for a t-shirt? Hmmmm.
But, as I said, it's a classic race. Well worth doing, at least once.

In short: Fantastic race! Beautiful scenery makes up for the pain in the legs!
In full: A brilliant day, and I'd recommend this race to anyone (who likes a challenge!). The final downhill to Llanberis was a killer... Fantastic atmosphere with supportive crowds and runners alike. I'll be back!

In short: What a choice for a first marathon, fantastic
In full: I ran this as my first marathon and I am glad I did. Not too many runners so there is no pushing and shoving, the course is spectacular but it is very very tough in parts (especially miles 22-25).
Great organisation, plenty of support, loads of drinks stations that are well manned.
This is a race to do. It is daunting for a first marathon but worth the effort.
Thanks to all the organisers and helpers and well done.

In short: Great race but bottles not cups please!
In full: A great race and I will definitely do it again to try to get the better of the hill at 21.5. I would have given the organisation a higher rating but paper cups do ot work for a marathon must have spilt more than I drank and where were the energy drinks.

In short: Absolutely fantastic marathon and would recommend it to anybody.
In full: Third time in Snowdonia, and it's still my favourite marathon of all time. The scenary, organisation, the support from the locals and the tourist - absolutely brilliant! It's certainly a challenging course, but what's the point in things being easy all the time?!! Thank you to the organisers, marshalls, the lads and lassies on the drink stations, and to all you other runners who offer as much support as anybody else. Superb!
