In short: The third time I've run it..... and I'll be back again ! In full: This run has almost everything I look for. It is at the right time of year ... not too hot or too cold , it is about the right size ( lots of space to do your own thing without feeling you're running on your own ),almost flat course etc.I struggle to find any real fault with it , but,nit-picking , a little more spectator support out on the course would have been nice. Thanks to the organisers , marshalls ,drinks station helpers and others for a job very well done. Date of review: September 28, 2005

In short: Small and well organised In full: A pleasant rural course mainly flat with PB potential. Well done to the race marshalls who did an excellent job. Typical Rugby club facilities. Bar, changing, bacon butties!!! etc. Safety pins were supplied with the numbers!! A helpful detail some races miss. The entry was full of racing snakes, with the last runners coming in at around 2:25 ish, but the prizegiving took place as the last runners were coming in, so no-one was left to feel like an 'also ran, coming in after everyone has packed away. Nice atmosphere. The only niggle was the lack of info on the web site. The AC is the link from runners world but it only contained an entry form with little info. A course description, start time and directions would have attracted more runners and helped to fill in that tail end!! Date of review: September 26, 2005

In short: Like a run out in the country with your mates! In full: Almost flat course, one gradual long uphill and a couple of minor ones, well made up for by the nice downhill stretches. Definately a pb course. All organisers were brilliant, especially when at 11 miles my foot gave out, I texted my Mum for a lift in the ambulance and it was there in 2 mins! Very friendly, would definately do it again. Date of review: September 26, 2005

In short: Was a good race, well organised. In full: Nice touch by the organiser of the marshalls to come round to ask how we found it for feedback and whether there were any improvements they could make.
Only one I could think of would bne to change the route slightly as the third road we went down lasted 4.5 miles so a bit boring! Although he said that they would struggle to make a course if they didn't have this long stretch in it. Date of review: September 26, 2005

In short: Superbly organised, good PB potential In full: Well done to the organisers and marshalls. The race was excellent, uncrowded, a straightforward route with some long but gentle inclines, good T shirt at the end, and I got a PB. Recommended. Date of review: September 26, 2005

In short: Well organised and a lovely route. Well done to everyone. In full: The day was a pleasure from start to finish. Having only run one half marathon before which was the GNR the previous Sunday, I was a little apprehensive about such a small event. Would I get lost? Would I be last?Would there be enough water? Would there be first aid etc... etc... All my fears were for nothing. It was superbly organised with plenty of marshalls, police and ambulances standing by. The major road junctions were closed as we ran through them and there were plenty of drink stations, each one with sponges too. The course was mostly flat with a few slight hills but nothing major and it passed through rural country lanes for half the way allowing nice views. The last mile or so was down a nice long gentle hill which more than made up for the uphill section the previous mile and a half. I only started distance running this year as training for the New York Marathon (charity entry) and my first experience of a proper race event was the GNR, which was good as a spectacle and to be involved in, but this race was much better as there were only a few hundred entrants and I was able to run at my own pace without tripping over the masses or getting pushed out of the way by others. Everyone was very helpful and friendly and it made my day to finish in 1hr 54mins 20secs which is a PB by almost 10mins from my GNR time. Will certainly do this again.
