In short: Third year in a row and will be back for a fourth In full: I do three or four halfs a year and this is always one of the friendliest. I'm surprised by the criticisms being leveled at organisers this year - this race is by far one of the nicest, most welcoming and best value on the calendar. I have to admit the distance is still too short, but this year was better - first 2 years I did it the distance was 12.9, this year was 13.0 so getting closer. But that's a minor quibble. Yes, multi-lap courses are more boring; yes, lack of time chip means less guaranteed accuracy of timing; yes, there were only 3 portaloos. But organisers were up-front and clear about all of these things, including demolition of the toilets/changerooms - I can't fault the planning or organisation and really appreciate them taking on board last year's comments on the distance. Overall, thanks Ufdance for running such a friendly, unpretentious event. Date of review: August 26, 2010

In full: I enjoyed the scenery, but found the six lap course a bit of a struggle. The support from the marshal's was very good and appreciated. Surprised with some of the comments I have read. This was my third half this year, all my times have been within two minutes of each other. Plus from my long training runs, I could tell that this course was spot on, distance wise. Also people moaning about the late start. 11.00 start, and it went off four or five minutes late-big deal. The toilets were a bit of a problem, but I had been updated about the facilities being demolished. All in all, a good day but I do prefer a one lap run. Date of review: August 26, 2010

In short: not short as garmin probably didn't pick up all the way round and if you were lapping people you did the extraa metres anyway! In full: Friendly race. Flat but not the fastest of surfaces. Laps were good but lapping runners who wear earphones and don't hear you coming is annoying! Don't wear them! Date of review: August 25, 2010

In short: Super fun day out as always! In full: This is a very well organized event with a unique personal touch that is truly magic to be a part of. We had emails galore from Bob ahead of the day, a Gladiator champion leading the warm up, marshalls shouting for us all round the course, loads of food and water afterwards. The only little gripe I'd have is the small number of portaloos. Date of review: August 25, 2010

In short: Friendly, reasonably well organised urban race In full: I thought this was a decent race actually. I was slightly dubious about doing a multi loop race but it was fine. PB possibility but I wasn't in good enough shape. A bit more work could be done on marking out a start line and having a proper prize giving ceremony (prizes were only offered to the first man and woman - nothing for 2nd & 3rd or age groups), but the organisers are not a running club, so I'd give them the benefit of doubt. I would do this again if it fits in with the rest of my schedule. Date of review: August 25, 2010

In short: Very friendly race - well done and thanks to all those involved In full: I have read the other feedback posted and agree that the marshals did a fantastic job. It was a nice touch that they call out people's names during the race as they cheered them on. It was great that there were so many water stations and that there was plenty of water available. Plenty to eat also at the end of the race! The heat, humidity and the running surface in places made the race challenging; my legs seemed unusally tired. But at least it wasn't wet and cold! While I agree that the route was monotonous we knew that the course was a 6 lap format when signing up. Like some others I too measured the course to be slightly short. Oh well.. The slight delay to the start by a few minutes was neither here nor there. Again, many thanks to the friendly marshals Date of review: August 25, 2010

In short: Is this race discriminating against disabled people? In full: I wasn't going to rate this race as I didn't actually attend, but having been told that others also had problems with lack of response before the race and didn't attend, I decided i would explain my problem too. I also sent an email before the race which was ignored, asking if my helper could enter free of charge as I am partially sighted. It is very disappointing that the pre race organisation has let down a race that seemed to be highly rated last year Date of review: August 24, 2010
