In short:
In full: I loved the variety in terrain and scenery - challenging and thoroughly enjoyable! The encouragement and support from the marshals and fellow runners was simply amazing.
A big thank you to Dr. Rob and the team for organising such a great event.
This is now my favourite marathon and already looking forward to signing up to next years!

In short: It's really no Picnic!!!
In full: Loved every minute of this mad race, completely different to anything i'd done in the past, great organisation and the best marshall's i've ever experienced, so vocal, surportive and encouraging.
This race is as tough as advertised (and rightly so), the steps are probably the hardest part of the race (or they were for me) but the sense of achievement as you climb the last step is immense. Congratulations to everyone who took part and may see some of you next year!

In short: What just happened...??
In full: It was like one of those dreams you have where you sing a song about saving the queen, then you're running, but the hill just keeps on going, and then there is a guy playing bag pipes, and suddenly you're climbing up some stairs, and then you're throwing up and you legs are cramping up, but you're still running and the hill is still there, and then you're in a river, and everyone is smiling at you, but you're not sure why they're smiling because you're in so much pain, and so you end up smiling back at them, and you're still climbing those steps, and you realise that you've been up these steps already, and that hill looks familiar, but you're still not at the top. Perhaps I'm still dreaming, I could have sworn my mug changed colour this morning.

In short: I found god while trying to finish the Picnic!
In full: I only managed to complete the half :o(
But what a fantastic event this is, well ran(apart from myself that is), well signed and marshalled, friendly and smiling marshalls with the added touch of having your name on race number which is always nice to have someone shouting your name rather than just a number!
Great Picnic after the Picnic, fantastic finishers medal, T-shirt and mug.
Very difficult course but the views are worth every hill you go up!
I will be back again to settle the score with you Picnic!
If you sign up for this you will not be dissapointed!

In short: Brutal, steps, hills, steps, hills
In full: Finally I now have completed the set. Knacker Cracker, Leith Hill Half, Munro, Greensand in 2010 and now the famous Picnic. Many will not believe how hard this race is untill they actually give it a go. A big thanks to all the great marshalls, Rob and his team and to all the fellow runners of the picnic and munro. The encouragement received from the munro runners was outstanding. Take up the challenge and run the Picnic thee pride and satisfaction on completeing it is overwhelming, do it I dare you !!!!

In short: Brutal, evil, great fun. Dr. Rob and the marshals were fabulous as ever.
In full: We were promised hard and boy did we get it. Worse than Tough Guy. The organisation by Dr. Rob and the team was spot on as always, the rendition of God Save the Queen at the start was just right and the marshals at each and every station around the course were huge: so supportive, friendly and willing to help - and they must have been frozen. Very hard but very hard to beat.

In short: They really weren't exaggerating in the pre-race blurb!!
In full: I was really upset at having to pull out at 9.5 after falling and pulling my hamstring, but had to leave feedback just to say a massive thank you to all the marshalls and other runners who really made this a fantastic race. Will definitely be back to do it properly next time!

In short: Nothing compares to this race... its insane!! But crossing the finish line can never be taken away from you.
In full: Every bit as hard as an ultra marathon. Just as big an achievement.
