In short: Excellent choice for our first half marathon. Brilliantly organised and marshalled.
In full: Grest day out and a bonus that the promised wet weather was late arriving until we had finished. Our first half marathon and great support on the way round. Chip collection was a bit of a pain but otherwise fantastic. My wife was very happy with her skinny fit T-shirt as she feels she could be seen out in it given the good fit! Never mind the uphills as there were good downhills after each one to help you recover. Many thanks!

In short: Definately worth getting out of bed for.
In full: After arriving with a good hour to spare, ended up rushing to get on the start line because there was no breaks in the fences - like most others, had to climb over which irritated the martials! The Memoral Park zig-zag episode was a bit tedious.

Those gripes aside, the route was well martialed and there was a fair amount of support. The drinks stations were well run and volunteers giving up their Sunday, very welcoming and friendly.

In short: Great course for a city centre start taking in quite a few parks or similar
In full: There were a few hills but nothing that should stop anyone from entering. Very well marshalled. Quite a scenic route at times. Only gripe is that the start barriers had no breaks to allow people across or to get to your timed start point - health and safety police I suspect.

In short: poor organisation as far as championship collection and signposting is concerned, but the course was varied, challenging and interesting. well worth doing!

In short: Good run with exception of memorial park bit and crowding at the start
In full: The last thing you need near the end of a race is to come back on yourself several times. Need to change route in memorial park so either straight through or all the way around it.

In short: Brilliantly organised and very beginner friendly
In full: My first half marathon and I'd definitely do it again. Excellent organisation (but it would've been nice not to have to collect the chip). Route more scenic than I expected - and I didn't mind all the to-ing and fro-ing in Memorial Park. Everyone very friendly and encouraging (thank you to the kind folks at the 4 mile marker dishing out jelly babies). Good medal and t-shirt. Highly recommended.

In short: I thought last year was good, this year 'it just got better'
In full: Loved the new course. Most of the hills done by 5 miles, except for 1 at 8 miles and then end. The park was challenging for sure, but it was prettier than a housing estate I guess. Lovely course, lots of green. Brilliant support from the locals and the marshalls. And the 12 mile hill, much appreciated!
Great t shirt, medal and goody bag. The whole race is thought out with the competitors uppermost in the organisers minds. Thanks everyone. And yes, it is made for beginners, which I really think is important.

In short: I'm glad a chose this as my first half marathon
In full: I have only done a handful of races, but this one definately stands out as one of the best. When I arrived on the day, the queue for chips went down remarkably quickly, plenty of storeage facilities, well arranged start, liked the starting music, people were all very friendly, hills not too bad, goodie bag contained some much needed CHOCOLATE!!!, and the shower after was lovely.
Can't falt it.............

In short: Really well organised if a little challenging due to the hills
In full: Was surorised how many hills there were on this course but none too bad although putting another one in there after 12 miles was a bit mean. Fantasic organisation, no problems parking, ample bag storage, toilets and even managed to get a great shower at the end. Nice goody bag with food and drink as well as a great medal and t-shirt.
