In short: Chilly 'n' hilly
In full: The start was a surprise, we were caught chatting and felt sorry for the people still queueing for the loos. There seemed to be quite a few, but the queue never appeared to go down!..

Chilly run, but it is still December, but at least it kept dry for the first hour. I also felt sorry for the back markers, as the temperature appeared to drop and it began to rain.

The course IS hilly, so slowed me up a little, but the down slopes were fun and I managed a 5 minute mile coming down towards half way, so was a welcome relief.

All in all good marshaling, baggage drop, and chip timing, but rubbish plastic bag with 'those' leaflets and no snacks. The mug is OK though, but could have been special for the big 50th anniversay, but really was not. Got a PB though.

In short: All very good apart from water running out, over 8 miles that is poor....

In short: Shame about the toilets and water running out!
In full: Could have done with more toilets as the wait was nearly 20 minutes. Also, it was not really good enough that they had run out of water at the only water station on the course. Would have preferred a medal (especially as I droppped the carrier bag that the mug was in when running back to my car in the rain and broke the mug!!!!). Also a banana/cereal bar is always appreciated

In short: 5th time for me, always fun, be back next year
In full: Like No 1 comment, shame about no medals, but I'm not that worried. More worrying was water station running out, but as usual a good fun winter race. Good that entry fees benefitted CHASE.

In short: A nice little race. 'Goody bag' very poor.
In full: My best Hogs Back to date. Knocked 6 minutes off last year.

Being able to leave your bags at the start and collecting them at the finish is excellent. Thanks to all involved. However at the last two Hogs Back's I completed we received a small medal. This year we it was a plastic bag containing some advertising paperwork and a coffee mug. Personally I would prefer the medal but I am sure others will not mind. I'm still up for 2010.

In short: Glad the hill was at the start, shame there wasn't ant water for the slower runners, we were desperate at the top of the climb! But good fun anyway

In short: I love this race
In full: Challenging, well run, great scenery and on my home turf. The weather turned nasty after I finished (1h4) but I hope everyone got back OK. Thanks to GGAC for another well-run race.

In short: Excellent organisation and very friendly, but large parts of run on busy roads not very inspiring. Still very glad I ran it!

In short: Very well-organized, as always
In full: The view from the top of the Hog's Back makes the slog up it worthwhile. Plenty of helpful marshalls, and I was impressed at the slick manner in which the numbers and chips were given out. Also, keeping the finished runners and their supporters from jamming up the finish for the slower ones was a great idea. One small gripe. 8 portaloos? Like several others, I slunk off into the industrial estate, (a bit of a shortage of bushes) and am probably now providing the Christmas entertainment on the CCTV.
