In short: A long hot haul round the North Downs made a delight by the inspiring scenery and jelly baby-infested water stations
In full: this race is hard to beat... although it nearly beat me. Easy to find, we-ll organised and good water stations and facilities. Gruelling hills and heat, but a decent t-shirt, barbecue, prizes and - perhaps best of all - free cake.

And as for the marshalls - never seen so many. Revolutions have been staged with fewer people.

In short: Can't get enough of this one
In full: 4 year of running this race and every time it hits the spot.
Fantastic scenery, lovely houses, villages churches and pubs.
Every imperfection on the ground it sprayed bright orange - tree routes, hanging branches and probably any walkers or wildlife that happened to be on the course at the time ; well, nearly every one! You missed one this year guys ;-) mashalling is superb and friendly.
One of the first in the calender each year.

In short: Superb scenery & great value for money
In full: The course was very scenic & the marshalls were superb. I've never seen so many jelly babies in so short a time before. And all those lovely cakies at the end. Istead & Ifield really do put a lot of hard work into organising this event

In short: Fantastic.
In full: Thank you for a wonderful run. Suffered badly, but thoroughly enjoyed it! Organisation was faultless with marshalls in the right places and very encouraging. Will have to come back next year after a bit more training! Thanks again.

In short: For my money, the best race on the calendar.
In full: Like many others,I find the NDR simply unmissable.Every year,I look forward to it and every year,I forget just how tough it is !

The last 10K is totally unforgiving unless you've paced the first 20K properly (like I didn't do this year),but it's worth every single ache and painful step.

Scenery-outstanding.Fantastic views and beautiful rural surroundings. In fact,it was better than ever this year, perhaps due to it being a couple of weeks earlier than usual.

PB Potential-if it weren't for the fact that it's the only 30K I've ever done,it would be non-existent !This is a very, very tough course and the cumulative effect of all the hills makes the final stretch in Shorne Country Park and the uphill road section that follows as hard as anything I've ever encountered.

Atmosphere-outstanding.There's a real sense that all the runners are in it together and there's always a great atmosphere at the finish afterwards.

Organisation-again,outstanding.The marshalling and marking of the course are the best you'll ever experience and the children at the water stations do a really great job.

Value-ditto ! a top quality tee-shirt,plenty of fruit, water and delicious cakes plus free swim,BBQ etc.

Beginner-friendliness-very friendly and supportive to runners of all standards, but this race is very tough and not really suited to beginners unless they've put in the necessary training.

Overall-still the best race in the calendar. If I could only do one race a year, this would be it.

In short: Excellent race, very friendly, stunning scenery
In full: Highly organised race with friendly and encouraging marshalls. Scenery was gorgeous, route was tough and the hot weather was tiring but the race was worth the effort.
