In short: Good organisation and a very good course
In full: I never ran it lasy year but all in I thought it was well organised and a really good course. PB friendly and decent conditions. I do think that some entertainment along the route would be nice and the water stations were crowded, but thats my only real gripes.

In short: A huge improvement on last year's organisation. Very flat and fast, and good conditions.
In full: You have to take your hat off to the organisers for addressing all the issues that were raised after last year's event. It's not perfect - some of the route is a little dull - but you can't have everything, and to make the route more interesting would probably mean more hills and so slower time. As it happens, almost everyone I know who ran this got a PB... and the event village, goody bags, etc. were all very good. And plenty of the route is still scenic.
Would be good to see this race continue to grow and improve, and get bigger crowds and more enthusiastic support round the course.
Just the car parking that really needs to be sorted out for next year. I was on more of a high when I got back to my car than I was an hour later when I was allowed to leave!
But generally, I have to just say very well done to the organisers. Good job.

In short: Excellent Race
In full: Well done to the organisers for transforming this race. A very fast course. This event will surely only get bigger and more popular over the next few years.

In short: An event transformed, and a pb!
In full: After slagging off last year's event along with so many other runners, its only fair to say what a turn round has been achieved in a year. The course was much better with the late loops of 2006 removed, water, first aid and the first ( for Edinburgh) toilet stations added, the start took place on time and the finish was well organised. Vast credit to the organisers for addressing and correcting the problems of 2006. All that's left now is to get the Edinbuggers out on the streets to support the event. THere were more supporters out ar a much smaller event in Redcar two weeks previously.
This is a relatively flat course and, although there was a slight wind in your face on the long run along the shore, this is a really good stretch to do when the sun is shining. A memorable finish past the Britannia too all added up to me taking nearly 3 minutes off my pb. ! hr 30 here I come!

In short: Sooooooooo much better than last year!
In full: Well done to the organisers of this event for taking on the comments from last year - this was sooo much better. For me, and I am sure for a few others, I find the loop backs rather demoralising but hey you can't have everything and at least they were not as bad as last year's. Goody bag was great too as was the finish area. Can't comment on the parking etc as hubby and I tend to stay over the night before. Good crowd support everyone very encouraging and the marshalls I came across were excellent (thanks to you all for giving up your Sunday for us) thanks too to all those who manned the water stations, which were also much improved. Only downside for me was the wind along the waterfront - is it always that windy/cold? On the whole both OH and I thoroughly enjoyed this one and will be back again next year. Keep up the good work. Not one of my all-time favourites yet but you never know!

In short: Big improvement on last year
In full: After the fiasco of 2006 I was in two minds about returning to this race, but eventually decided, hey its local and it can't be as bad as last year. Well, it wasn't, the traffic was better managed (although the car parking should be rethought as we were stuck in one carpark until after 12 where the other 2 were allowed to be used during the race)and subsequenlty the race started on time. The revised route was better with more of a loop at the start and a pretty straight run in at the end while keeping the flatness which gives the race PB potential. Chip timing was also an improvement which allowed a clear run at the finish.
I also liked the goody bag this year, much better value with the T-Shirt but the best thing was the small tub of vaseline which is the most useful thing I've ever had in one of these.
The only criticisms I would mention are the water stations could have had more people on them and as mentioned before the parking but the organisers did well enough to make me come back again.

In short: Good race - still not a patch on Glasgow..
In full: So much better than last year but like the other runners mentioned, the double backing can be soul destroying. Marshalls need a dose of happy pills and how about some other entertainment (like Glasgow runs manage so well) along the way? Good distance markers - but we need more toilets!!! nearly missed the start queuing for the mens urinal only toilet by mistake. However, 90% improvement on last year.
