In short: Found this much more enjoyable than the GNR probably cuz of less runners. Great vocal support too. Should rename it the Great Windy Run tho...

In short: Field just too big -- even with the 3-wave start
In full: The beginning was very congested. In Wave 3, too many 'runners' were walking in the first mile, making running difficult. I know it's a mass participation event, but if you can't run one mile, try something less challenging than ten!

In short: Flat, lots of crowds, well organized
In full: The only downside was no showers on site and the wind (not much they could do about that though)

In short: I love this race - I only do a few per year - this one is a must
In full: Easily my favourite race - one I hope to do for many years to come. A good race for beginners with the staggered starts. I am concerned it doesn't get too much bigger - only done the Great North once but I found the numbers involved horrendous.

In short: Great race
In full: Nice and flat, thankfully the wind blew the right way on the last 2 miles. Only complaint was the map and literature sent out before - it suggested to park at city centre car parks etc etc, then didnt show where any were in relation to the start. Had to do much internet searching to work out where to go and were to place friends! Avoided traffic by parking far away then going shopping - clearly a winning idea by the sounds of it!

In short: This race is MUCH better organised than the Great NOrth run - more toilets, great idea to ahev a "wave" start to allow faster runners a chance to avoid delays

In short: wave start - other big races take note!
In full: People complaining about access should remember: 1. public transport from a number of local and further afield train stations possible. 2. It said in the race guide that leaving the car parks would take a while.
However, the race toute should include street names for spectators, not just a wiggly line on poor quality map.
Otherwise, a great day out for runners (all abilities) and spectators.

In short: Great day. T-shirt and medal excellent one again - shame about the traffic out of Southsea
In full: This is my 5th GSR and I really enjoyed the race, and the whole day until it was time to leave. Despite a slow time of 1:52 and a quick pint afterwards it took our minibus over 2 and a half hours to get from Southsea Common carpark to the A27 using the eastern exit out of Southsea. My friend who lives just down the road at Fareham (only took him 20 minutes to get there at 8.15 am) took an hour to get off the car park and two hours to get home. Although I want to do the race again next year I will definitely have to give it some thought if it is going to take as long to get home.
