In short: A great PB course for the 10 distance - BUT so expensive
In full: I really enjoyed the run and the course. Luckily I won a place in the race otherwise I dont think I would have entered - £40 is very expensive.

The T SHirt and medal were really nice at the end.

The last 2 miles back along the sea front is very tough. If it had been raining instead of sunny I dont think I would have enjoyed it so much.

Parking and general access into Portsmouth on race morning are a nightmare - Arrive the day before and stay or come on a bike.

In short: Well-organised, huge field, very enjoyable
In full: Great day out, great course, great atmosphere - loved the loud music at mile 9.

Really lucky with the weather, and definitely appreciated the on course shower to cool us down.

Thought the baggae area was really well organised compared to other races

However, the waves weren't well managed at all - it was difficult to get into your estimated time, and many people were starting far too far forward. Only quibble though.

In short: Great Race, good support
In full: This was my first 10 mile race and loved the support and atmosphere on the way round. Found the last two miles pretty tough along the sea front due to the windy conditions.
With regards to travelling:
I travelled along way for this and stayed at a hotel just 4 miles from Southsea the night before - and it took nearly an hour to get the car park at Southsea on the Sunday morning.

The carpark was a real 'mare' to get out of at the end -we delayed our exit by 2 hours and it took 1.30 hours as we had to get out as due to distance we needed to get away.

Next year I will stay at a hotel in the centre of Portsmouth and avoid this problem.

All in enjoyed the race but felt let down by the car parking debacle at the end.

Only down side was baggage storage was not secure, and a bit pricey - but overall enjoyed it

In short: A nice big event race to do, not much for £30 entry though!
In full: Well organised, lots of marshalls, windy at times on course but as expected on a coast run, lots of support all way round.
Baggage area was not manned, £30 entry they should have a manned baggage area.
£30 entry, basic t-shirt and medal - alot of money for very little!

In short: Great race, but could someone remember the key for the car park gate!
In full: Great race and helped me lift my mood from a miserable week in bed with the cold and almost even got a PB despite not being in full fitness.

Not much to top the organisation, but would like to see more speakers from mile 8 onwards, especially if the weather is naff like in 2008. Only one other thing, as a fast runner, I was disappointed that I wasn't able to get a quick getaway from the Southsea car park as they had lost the key to the gate for the only exit. I think a backup plan \ diversion should have been in place as most of the other organisation was 100% spot on!

In short: Great organisation - fantastic charity support
In full: Didn't enjoy the first mile - too many people with hopeful times to dodge. Last 2 miles into the wind were horrid. Nice run, though.

In short: Excellent again but people please choose the right wave
In full: Excellent course and organisation with great PB potential if it wasnt for the amount of people in the wrong wave. I was in orange c but was stuck behind very slow runners for the first 4k. Even overtook people walking after 2k! Had to run far too quick between 4 and 6 to even get close to my PB. Will do again though
