In short: Not for flat lovers In full: Great setting, a quick rendition of 'God Save the Queen' at the start and a proper challenging trail run makes this one for thr 2014 calendar. The choccy bar and tech t shirt at the finish adds to the value. Look forward to Polesdon Lacy in the summer. Date of review: February 3, 2013
In short: Hilly, boggy fun In full: A wonderful event through some nice countryside. The only way you could get a pb is if it's your first race! There was mud, there were puddles and hills (mountains?!)but it was great fun traipsing through it and the atmosphere, as at all Events To Live events, was first class.
Highly recommended for fun but not for pbs. Date of review: February 3, 2013
In short: Hilly, hard but fun! In full: Superb event would recommend it to anybody! Very hard race on the day due to the sweltering heat. Fabulous views great organisation and friendly marshalling. Date of review: June 3, 2012
In short: A slow but beautiful course In full: I think this is tougher than most people have described. I was 15 minutes slower than when I completed a 10k race 2 weeks ago. On the plus side amazing scenery and great value. Date of review: May 28, 2012
In short: Great Fun In The Sun In full: A great fun race from start to finish. Brilliantly smooth organisation, and wonderfully encouraging marshalls. A hard trail race but in a great location and so lovely to run in the sun. Left me happy and buzzing all day, thank you to the ETL team and the camaraderie of the fellow runners. In short: Nice in the shade! In full: Excellent and well organised race, well done Alan and Nicki. The marshalls were very encouraging and the extra water station was very ueful. Conditions could not have been more different considering it was originally cancelled 'cos of snow! Would be nice to see some distance markers though. Date of review: May 28, 2012
In short: Excellent off road race In full: This is always a well organised event and the school makes an ideal venue for the start and finish. There is plenty of on-road parking nearby and all of the other necessities were in place, including clear course marking, very good and supportive marshalls and two water stops (which were certainly needed in the heat). The course is certainly a hard one but that makes it interesting and the scenery is superb. While the day was very hot the fact that a lot of the course was shaded meant that that was quite bearable.
