In short: Excellent fast course and great support!
In full: I started in the sub 45 pen and had little trouble with congestion, just a few runners darting across for position. The wind out by the Great Ouse made that the slowest Km. In town the crowds were fantastic and hearing my club name shouted gave me a lift. I can't understand the problem with passing the finish with 2k to go. I was spurred on, knowing it was time to get ready for the kick and I passed loads of runners in that last 2k. This was the shortest distance I have ever raced and it was a good effort to come in sub-45. So I am pleased

In short: It was brill...
In full: But only my second race, so probably can not give as good as review as the more experienced.
Did find the start a bit conjestive, which did cost me a couple of minutes.

In short: Excellent fast course, good organisation
In full: Really enjoyable run, flat course, great to run through the town centre and all that support for so much of the course.
Really can't understand all the comments about congestion etc. For a run with a medium sized field & town centre start, there was no congestion, I cant say that anyone held me up from the moment I crossed the line. Well done to the organisers, a nice event with good support and a fast course. I guess this race will become much more popular as it is established, so recommend booking early next year. I will.

In short: Better course this year, more support. Well done.
In full: The revised course was better than last year's, and going out along the river was a challenge (into a stiff breeze). The event had grown as well with more stalls etc and a better atmosphere. Well done everyone involved.

In short: Good for those at front - frustrating for the faster laggards
In full: Easy to concentrate on good points ... the below-expectations were:
1) Incredible conjestion over first 2 and last 2 kilometres - cost me around 2 minutes

2)Chip-timimg wildly inaccurate. Glad I wore a watch. I thought chips were very accurate - what went wrong?

3) Confusion after finishing - where were the drinks, which way to collect goody bag and medal ...

4)Results would have been useful indicating age categories of runners and age-category results.

I'd go again but would start nearer the front and do my own timing.

In short: Well Organised, crowded start, excellent medal
In full: A well organised race. The start was rather congested and probably cost me and many others a pb. Frustrated by people walking BEFORE 1km mark and being unable to pass them because of weight of numbers in the narrow streets. Could have done with more starting pens to try and avoid this in the future? The wind by the river was quite strong. Excellent crowd support, kept me going during difficult parts of the course.
Bit mean to make the runners go past the finish to do another 8km, but at least you knew there wasn't very far left to do!
The best medal I have received so far and a nice t-shirt.
Very friendly race, being a municipal run event not as snobby or elitist as previous club organised 10k's I have done.( I am an unaffliated runner)
One to revisit, if only to avenge my defeat at going sub 60mins and just off a pb as well!
