In short: Great race, but registrations need looking at.
In full: No information at all from race organisers before the race made it difficult to plan or know what to expect. Signposting to the car park (Asda or otherwise) could have been better, then followed up by a 10 minute queue to pick up race numbers despite booking online well in advance was a frustrating start.

However the race itself was fantastic. Overtaking was a little tricky on the narrow lanes, but the pace was good and nobody had a problem to step out of the way. Beautiful scenery - helped by gorgeous weather - and apart from a couple of small hills, nice and flat meaning I smashed my PB.

Plenty of water stations was good - I prefer drinks little and often - but I almost missed some of them. It would be helpful to have a marker in advance so you can be ready to collect a drink.

Either that, or I might stop for a drink with the nice people who cheered us on from outside the pub next time :)

In short: Nice route but not built for mass run
In full: The first 4 miles are a mix of narrow cycle lanes and single file track. It took until mile 5 before you could open a large stride. How can you use a track that you cant overtake on. The front runners would have been fine but us average runners just got clogged up with several people getting tripped and kicked. The marshalls were brilliant, well done. Water stations were infrequent and each cup only had a tiny amount of water in them so you needed 2 or 3 to get a good drink. It was cheap to enter and that showed im afraid. I wont be back for the run but I will probably come back to walk the route as its beautiful.

In short: A great race, wonderful weather, scenic and fairly fast apart from two hills which did take it out of your legs a bit.
In full: Credit to the guy with the sign at 11.5 miles saying "the pain is almost over". I felt better after that

In short: Lovely scenery, friendly atmosphere, but not as flat as advertised.
In full: Great enthusiasm from all marshalls, and camaraderie between runners. Really was a pleasure to run. I didn't expect the hills to be quite so stark and they killed my PB chances - was looking good at 7 miles. Still, I would definitely be back.

In short: Flat first half lulls you into a false sense of security before the hills hit! V friendly, nice atmosphere
In full: Agonising delays getting there(BR then traffic), but then a really nice friendly race in absolutely glorious weather surrounded by quite gorgeous scenery. Nicest marshals anywhere! Thanks to all of you.

In short: Friendly race with a pretty route
In full: This had a real proper local club feeling to it, although there were plenty of non-club runners present to add to the grass roots atmosphere. Some traffic congestion getting to the venue caused long queues to collect on-line applications, which is something which could be addressed by posting out numbers maybe next year.
The organisers coped well with the problem and had everyone sorted and ready to go with just a 10 minute delay.

The first mile was a little congested due to the narrow cycle track, but soon opened up once over the bridge as the route followed the river out into the country.

Anyone hunting a PB should beware the hills from around mile 7 which are somewhat more than "undulations" and added a bit of a challenge to an otherwise generally flat route.

Water stations were frequent and enthusiastically manned with good support from marshalls along the way. Finishing with a half circuit of the track was good, and the medal was a nice touch. Some runners were also lucky enough to get a spot prize t-shirt too!

All in a very friendly and satisfying race.
