In short: The scenery make the challange of the hills worth the effort. In full: The hills are challenging but the views worth the effort. The marshalling was excellent. The start was rather chaotic. Nice to go to a race where there isn't a huge queue for the loos! Date of review: November 17, 2008
In short: One of the best finishing strech of any race I've done. In full: That view as you come over the crest of the last rise of the switchback and can see your way to the line - all downhill - never fails to inspire.
I agree that the start could be improved - wouldn't it be possible to start the race on the service road inside the racecourse? Date of review: November 17, 2008
In short: challengine 10-miler with a fast finish In full: Nice race in nice scenery, and not too crowded. My only gripe was no medal for all finishers. My 2 year old daughter was disappointed. Date of review: November 16, 2008
In short: Very enjoyable well organised race In full: Great organisation, although the start was a bit messy, (suggest that people are directed to gather in the downs car park and file onto the road start). Manage the uphills and there is the potential of a quickish race in there with the downhill bits Date of review: November 16, 2008
In short: race - will definitely do it again In full: Very well organised race - no problems finding registration - with good facilities inside the Queens Stand before the start. Marshalls well placed all along the route, gave good support. One slight complaint is there was no post race fuel other than water - suggest some form of nourishment in the good bag or even facility to purchase some at the end. First half of the course was challenging due to the steep hills (steep for me anyway). A enjoyable and memorable race overall. Date of review: November 16, 2008
In short: Are there any better facillities anywhere else? In full: First time ever running this race(and i have been to a few!) I defy anyone to find better facillities, carpark outside the registration with ample spaces, toilets with no waiting, and toilet paper!,changing rooms, with showers attached, and the chance to be in the weighing room at a course that stages one of the greatest races in the world. As for the run,it was extremely well marshalled, and worth the time and effort. The hills was at times difficult, but if it was too easy it would be boring! Date of review: November 16, 2008
