In short: Well organised, friendly race. Very undulating.
In full: Well organised / marshalled, friendly local race. Very undulating. The sponges were a bonus

In short: Relentless hills that gave no respite.
In full: This course proved my nadir and confirmed that going longer than 13.1 miles would be just too darned stupid for this old fella.

In short: Mmm...Sweaty (I didn't know what to type in here :P)
In full: Glad I did it, but wasn't sure I totaly enjoyed it - although I ended up not feeling too well early on for some strange reason and the air felt quite humid. Th sponges they gave us were really appreciated though. I'm used to hilier races, but just can't put my finger on why I didn't like these undulations too much (may be the long straight stretchs of road).

Goody bag made me giggle; the banana & water were great, but wasn't sure what the cotton buds and shower cap were all about hehe. Track finish was a nice touch - the commentator shouted my name wrong though (I'm not a grumpy person honest haha, but when you hear Liz TUNA instead of TUNNA, it takes you back to your school days...)

In short: A well organised race. A new course with no big hills but it certainly undulates. Thanks to the marshalls and the manning the drinks stations. I'll be back next year.

In short: Very well organised
In full: Less hilly than previous years. Was impressed by the number of roads that were closed to traffic. Gave me the rare luxury of running up the middle of the MARR. Felt a lot safer than last year. Excellent water stations and thanks for the sponges at 6 miles. Mile 10 - 11 was horrible as you could see other runners for about a mile in front of you and it never seemed to end.

In short: A challenging course but a rewarding one - Crap goody bag!
In full: The course is on my doorstep and having done my training on the route (although at a slower pace) I found the race quite tough in places, more mentally as people kept stopping or slowing, but I kept it together and in my first ever Half marathon "race" I did a time of 1h 41m which was 3mins quicker than expected.
I only had to walk around the corner to the start line so logistically it was great for me, everything seemed well organised although as a guy with a shaven head the comb in the goody bag is of no use!!!
