In short: Great scenery, hard race
In full: Fantastic route through the grounds of Arundel Castle. The first 5.5k virtually all uphill so not good for PB but a great work out

In short: Great race, need to practise hill climbs before though!!!!
In full: Not PB potential but a great race. Great atmosphere and scenery. The beginning and the end of the race goes through Arundel Castle which is worth doing in itself. About the first 5k is on a tarmac incline through Arundel Park to which you then have to run down Target Valley. There is another 0.5k incline. The finish this year ended going down the high street instead of up which I found was quite narrow. Glad there were more water stations this year as it gets quite hot running uphills! All in all a good race and look forward to doing it next year. ;-)

In short: The hills are alive with the sound of ... people running up hills and down hills, rather steep ones, and then back up another smaller but just as steep one and ... finally finishing. [Julie Andrews is my mum.]

In short: Lovely setting, just don't under estimate the climb
In full: Really beautiful setting, well organised. Because of the steady climb for the first half of the race it is really difficult to pace yourself, and just when you thought it would start to get easier at the top, the path becomes uneven, then when you are getting used to the uneven track and heading downwards they throw in another punishing climb which just about finished me off!
Nice atmosphere and a great crowd cheering you on at the end. Might take me a bit longer to convince myself I enjoyed it and to try again next year

In short: The scenery more than makes up for that long slog up to 5km!
In full: Must admit that my ankles and calves were screaming on Monday from the grassy downhill - but beautiful and had fun at the Arundel Festival afterwards. Fantastic BBQ Sausages afterwards!

In short: Hard work but well worth it
In full: My first time doing this run and I really enjoyed it. It was hard work partly because it was hotter than I had expected and I had worn the wrong clothing. The last upward hill was a killer for me, next year I will pace myself better. View at the top was fantastic, I wished I'd had time to stop and take it in a bit longer.

In short: Hard Hilly Race - 421 ft climb, only 342 ft back down!
In full: Hard 5.5k up, but well worth it for the views ( not that there was time to stop & look!). That hill at 7.5 to 8k was the worse, I nearly walked, many did! Great momento, makes a change from a medal. The festival in the Town meant that we stayed around a bit afterwards. Bought some lovely bread & Onion Marmalade & sat in Swanbourne lake for a picnic afterwards.
Only one minor gripe. Why did all the water stations seem to be just as a downhill section started! Have them on the uphill I prefer to run downhill!

In short: Excellent race with terrific views. The hills make it very tough and you need to pace yourself. Would do the race again and bring the family to spend the day in and around this scenic part of Sussex.
