In short: Tamed?
In full: Well maybe not tamed, but it didn't get the better of me. Love this run (3rd time), the hills may be steep, the steps totally energy sapping, but the scenery is what it's all about. Add in a great atmosphere, and superb organistion and you've got The Beast. Well done to Poole AC, see you next year.

In short: Brilliant trail event - when it gets going!
In full: This is a great off-road course but the first 5 miles are a bit of a traffic jam nightmare with 500 runners trying to get around single track paths and over styles. Get this out the way (along with any time you had targeted) and the second half of the course is brilliant. The steps are great fun and the view of Corfe when emerging from the forest is very hard to equal.

In short: a great run!. a little bit frustrating whilst waiting in single file at obstacles and the steps drain any raceing left in you but still very enjoyable.

In short: Very tough, very enjoyable
In full: Why is the Runner's World profile for this "undulating/hilly"... "hilly/hilly" would be more accurate. Fantastic, well organised, well marshalled event that's a real challenge. It's not just the steps - which are hard enough, but there are some pretty forbidding hills too. For some reason, I found it much harder this year than last - maybe it was the sunny weather.

In short: Again a brilliant and challenging off roader with stunning scenery
In full: Probably my favourite run of the year. Great views, great hills and steep coastal path steps that I just can not run up! Took advantage this year by caning the first 2 miles to avoid the queues I got stuck in last year and managed to run it 17 mins quicker. I love the run-in at the end with Corfe Castle in full view. Will be back next year, and the year after, and the...
