In short: Didn't get the PB I had hoped for but good race nonetheless In full: Well organised friendly race that seems to be getting larger every year. Definately worth turning up for for a nice 10M run on a Sunday morning. Date of review: January 21, 2008
In short: As ever, this is a great run to start the year. In full: I've run this event many times and really enjoy it although I'm less keen on the new route as it means some tight turns in slippery mud this year. The marshalls are always great but seemed even more suppportive this year - plently of encouragement from all along the course, without exception. Well done St Albans Striders - many thanks for your excellent organisation yet again. Date of review: January 20, 2008
In short: Good race In full: I thought it was a well-organised race with some limitations. Parking, HQ and facilities were fine. Course was flat and traffic free, but very twisty with some muddy corners. Wind was less of a problem than expected. Wet underfoot.
The start wasn't great, but I got near the front without any effort and wasn't impeded at all, into my running within 100 metres.
Marsalls seemed excellent to me, but I wasn't affected by the problems at 9 miles.
And I set a PB. Maybe on a perfect day with dry conditions I'd have got even closer to the hour.
Cake and refreshment stall at the end was great. Date of review: January 20, 2008
In short: It took too much time between arrival & race start In full: Major queues for the toilets, nearly missed the start, although allowing an hour from arrival,to race start time. Date of review: January 20, 2008
