In short: Quite tough - but worth it. In full: Easy parking, well organised, great weather, a demanding hill (twice!), nice scenerary, good atmosphere, free drink and powerbar before the race, good T-shirt and free T-bags (i was gaspin for a brew too!). Overall great.
The only fly in the ointment would be the queues for the toilets. there were supposed to be some others available in the town but i couldn't see any directions to them. Date of review: July 30, 2007
In short: Demanding two lap course with rewarding dowhill finish In full: Sun shone as usual for this race and Harrogate looked its best. it also meant thate there were over 200 entries on the day so congratulations to Harrogate Harriers for accomodating them so well. Good organisation though start could be improved, friendly marshals and lodspeaker finishing commentary was nice touch. Date of review: July 29, 2007
In short: Just in town to visit brother and planned to have a go at it. Enjoyed myself! In full: Visiting my brother for the weekend, I'd arrmaged to do the race with him. His first race and he enjoyed it too, especially when they 'called out his number at the end'! I liked the hills as they added a bit of extra challenge to the race and the nice neighbourhoods that we ran through were a treat too! Interesting coloured T-shirt but the novelty of the teabags got my brother's vote! Date of review: July 29, 2007
In short: Happy with course, marshalls great - the start was a little chaotic though In full: Well organised in most respects, received number quickly, easy to park, marshalls friendly and encouraging, loud speaker at the end a nice touch. One gripe was the start - A number of runners lined up at the start; we were told to move back down the road so we could be walked to the start en-mass, no problem there. The starting hooter then sounded with no warning when I was no where near the start! As a faster runner I got stuck behind those who were slower; all speeds, shapes and sizes make a race and make running so fantastic but it was frustrating for me and probably for them as I weaved in and out! Well done anyway. Date of review: July 29, 2007
