In short: My first ever marathon and it certainly won't be my last. Amazing day!!
In full: Having never done a marathon before i had no idea what to expect. I found the course relatively hard but i think that was due to an inexperience at this distance. The organisation was fantastic and the support was also spot on. I have wanted to do a marathon since i was 8 years old and now 12 years on, i have done it, and what a first marathon to have completed. Well done to everyone today.

In short: Good race - organisation was superb
In full: Very impressive organisation to be able to run 3 races within one. Transport arrangements worked well. The mile count down in the second half was new to me and I liked it. Made a tough back-nine more palatable. A bit lonely in places in miles 18 - 23 until the half marathoners started overtaking (which was demoralising). Running through the relay change-over points was sweet.

In short: This was my first marathon after only 10 hours training in the last 2 months...
In full: But I tell you what, it was brilliant! And thank you to the seasoned guys on the bus upstairs with over a hundred to their name - you set the day off nicely. I can't fault it... or maybe to say it should be described on this site as hilly, not undulating!! A hard course for me as a novice but a respectable 4.45, and yes, it has got me hooked.... sunny good October running weather too...

In short: Ran 26.2 miles........but where was the mud!!!
In full: Really enjoyed this race. I am a seasoned marathon runner and did a pb for a cross country marathon totay 4.04. Mainly due to lack of mud & brill weather conditions. Didn't think any of the hills were daunting (unlike my next marathon Beachy Head later this month) and any reasonable runner would have no problem in running up them all.
Directions were spot on, marhalls fab, loads of drink stations & plenty of nosh. Got the bus from Winchester to the start & all went like clockwork. Liked the idea for the miles after the half way advising how far to go. I always find that last .2 of a mile the worst but it was lost earlier on so didn't notice it! Top event. Will be back

In short: The Carlsberg of Cross Country Marathons !
In full: What a fantastic race. The coaches from finish to start were a great idea, the school in Salisbury a great start, very friendly and atmospheric. The course was definately the best I have run, great paths and the good weather, today and recently, meant no mud. There were probably more water stations than I have had before and the marshalling, kids included, was fantastic. The finish was well controlled and the medal great. The standard of competitor was also good which was really encouraging - I was aiming for a sub 5 hour based upon the Neolithic and 54321 but came in at 4:21 ... well chuffed, a great day out !

In short: Fantastic XC Marathon
In full: Organisation was superb, loads of parking and toilets at the start (altho' I hear that latecomers had a raw deal as the water supply ran out!!) the first half of the course was beautiful scenery and rolling hills of the downs. Fine it seems in dry weather in road shoes. Was great to catch up with some old ultra-friends and was a friendly and positive atmosphere. Second half of the course was a bit mad at first as all of the half marathoners joined the party and there was a bit of hustle and bustle but the scenic second half and its much harder hills spread the field very quickly. Great medal and will look forward to a cider emporium at the finish next year. Well done Clarendon on a quality piece of organisation

In short: It didn't rain! Woohoooo!
In full: Flawless organisation as ever and the great scenery was much more enjoyable this year because the conditions under foot were much more stable, No mud and some of the nasty ruts had been filled in. Really good atmosphere at the Farley Mount relay transition. I love this event - well done organisers.

In short: well organised and lovely scenery, but with some nasty hills
In full: only 1 issue with the running, at mile 17 the water station was staffed by one girl was trying really hard to keep up but couldn't cope with the demand. Not helped by some people pushing in
