In short: Even more enjoyable than last year!! In full: Yes there are niggles - no pens, congestion, slower runners/walkers getting in the way, smaller t-shirts running out early BUT it's still a cracking race in my book. And as a fundraising event that's for ALL runners then it does what it says on the tin! I don't normally travel so far for a 10K but to take part in one of Jane's races I will Date of review: June 22, 2009

In short: How Great Was That? In full: My third Jane Tomlinson race and it gets better and better. I still can't believe there were 11,000 people there? Hats off to Mike, his family and the people of Leeds for pulling this event off. I loved it.
Yeah sure some sticking points:
a) the lack of penned areas b) getting past joggers and walkers c) people stopping slap bang in front of you - a bit of runner ettiquette wouldn't go amiss d) lack of help for the wheelchairs
The thing is this race grows every year and if the feedback is listened to and acted upon it will get better and better. Jane was a wonderful inspiration. I take all my inspiration from her.
Despite my quibbles (they're just for feedback), this is a RUN FOR ALL (read the title you people who would never do it again). The clue is the ALL.
Jane wanted a race for ALL ages and ALL abilities. Stop moaning and get out there, forget your PB and enjoy the ride.

In full: Well organised, good support & plenty of water stations for a 10K. It was very congested & would be better if the start was staggered Date of review: June 22, 2009

In short: got me back into running In full: The last 10k I did was 1985 and boy have things moved on!Timing chips for your feet etc and 11000 runners!Great way to get back into running I seem to be the only person on the site whod didn't get stuck behind walkers!Got a green number stood where I was supposed to, hugged a runner and off I went!Mind you at 2 k (yes there was a marker there) we looped round and still saw people setting off! It was incredilble seeing the elite runners coming back down Meanwood road as we were running up and I couldnt help spending 2k running and clapping these super athletes as they sped past! Then of course we all know now that gatorade is best served in squeezy bottles!! The noise on reaching the city centre was fantastic and I raised a shed load of money for the charity I was running for so a 100% top time!! Date of review: June 22, 2009

In short: Good atmosphere, course too narrow for the numbers running In full: I'm just a beginner but even for me it was a bit disappointing overall, hard to keep running with large crowds, narrow course many people walking throughout and bottlenecks. More toilets needed, staggered start would ease congestion, perhaps a walkers lane is needed? Date of review: June 22, 2009

In short: Good run, long slow hills, but what goes up must come down! usual pushing and shoving, wish the fast ones would get to the front and the walkers would get to the side! Date of review: June 22, 2009

In short: Great atmosphere but busy and bottlenecked In full: Year 3 not a patch on the first run. Slower runners were filtered into the start ahead of faster runners - made it very congested and slow to start with. Would be better to have a 'wave' start like the GNR or Edinburgh 10k. More water stations than previously, which was great on a warm day. Date of review: June 22, 2009

In short: Excellent race for beginners In full: This is the third year I have done this and the first was definitely the best. The organisers have listened after last year though - thank you for the slightly less long toilet queues in the green area (more portaloos would be brill) and I felt a bit more part of it this year with some entertainment on the Headrow too. The only distance marker I saw was at 5k though. Getting everyone into the pens at 8:30 means that a warm up is impossible. I am not sure that I will do this race again because it is expensive and really isn't a pb race if you are a quicker runner. However, I think it is a brilliant race for beginners and those who race less regularly. Date of review: June 22, 2009
