In short: Hard work but worth the effort
In full: First time I've done it. Good mixture of woodland paths, tracks, quiet roads and plenty of hills. Superb course markings and marshalls. Will be back next year.

In short: A hard but really enjoyable race
In full: Everything about this race is just right each year. Ample parking and toilets, friendly yet ultra-competent organisation, a hard but fair course in beautiful scenery. If you don't like this one you don't like trail running...

In short: Definitely not a race for a PB - congested start, narrow trails, sharp uphills and scrambles downhill, steps and a late long hill all militate against this. And yet.....a really enjoyable, brilliantly and very different race. Well worth the effort

In short: Just plain masochistic
In full: A very tough race up challenging hills - there seemed more up than down. Make sure you save plenty for the perpetual climb after 8 miles - it never seems to end. Thanks to Liss Runners for a well organised and marshalled event.

In short: Hard as nails - makes supermen of men, superwomen of women. Legs like jelly
In full: Super event which is as tough as they come. You think the hills are all over and then another one pops up to rip you to shreds. Its unremitting torture - but fun at the same time and the sense of achievement at the end is overwhelming. Love challenges like that - trail running at its hardest and best. Superbly organisd - good number of water stations and a nice medal to remember the pain by!

In short: An excellent well marshalled event
In full: Was very impressed with this event. Was the first time I have run here and thought the Marshall's handled things well. No problems with directions to get there or parking. The route was enjoyable with lots of woods and hills to contend with that I enjoyed. No chance of getting lost on this course which is a credit to the organization. Even a bar at the finish to get a drink and soak up the atmosphere. Certainly an event i would like to come back and do again.
