In short: Highly Recommended
In full: I entered this race as a result of the RW editorial on coastal runs and the glowing reviews it had received here. I'm so pleased that I did.

The organisation was excellent, everyone really friendly and helpful, smiling marshalls. The fact that its across the bay makes it unusual and then the surface varies from firm sand, splashing through surface water, softer dry sand then wading thigh deep across a river. (excellent opportunity to take a drink). Not too hard going though despite all of that.

Then when you look up it gets even better; to shore the view is of hills and coastline; in the distance the lead runners could be seen for miles and somewhere out there unseen the Irish Sea.

No doubt the good weather helped make the day, sunshine and blue skies all day. There was a helpful light tail wind of part (most?) of the way, which then turned to a cross wind and finally a head wind as the course changed direction across the sand finally disappearing for the last mile as we headed for the shoreline finish.

A good welcome at the finish too, with the usual fruit, medal, goody bag etc, but hot showers and tea too!

I have to recommend it.

In short: Excellent - completely different to any other race I've taken part in. Rather surreal at times; wading through rivers and laughing at the madness of it all with fellow runners. The Tattenhall Harrier doing breast stroke made my day!!
In full: Well worth the journey from County Durham. Thanks so much to all of the excellent volunteers who helped to make this such a great experience.

In short: This race is superb for its scenery, and for the novelty and sheer whackiness of running across the tidal bay. Not a race for a PB owing to terrain and loss of time when wading thigh deep through a river.

In short: Great organisation
In full: Great race. If you want to do something different do this. Hard going in places, but worth the effort. The river crossing were great fun, how many times can you normally have a laugh in a race? Excellent organisation and all the marshalls were so friendly. I'll fetch some club mates next time!

In full: This event is a must for everyone to do, Great organisation and a big thank you to all the volunteers who make this run possible. Outstanding views from the bay a lot better than running around drab city streets. Plenty of supports at the finish even a beer tent for those who need it. I will be back next year.
