In short: You don't have to be mad as a hatter to do this races- but it helps!
In full: I love this race, and think it should be on everyone's list of races to try.... I also think this is without doubt the best possible way to start the year!

The route is lumpy, and this year it was very muddy. As such, this is not a race to worry about times, or even distances.... However, the scenery is breathtaking and soul-affirming, and the sense of camaraderie and fun amongst the runners is priceless.

Massive thanks to the marshalls, and to Dr Rob and his family....

In short: One of the most incredible running events in the universe
In full: Thank you to Dr Rob and everyone / anyone else in the Trionium organisation for staging another magnificent start to the year. And to the marshals, St John's Ambulance and all the runners.

This was my 3rd Knacker Cracker and a new PB - only because it's a new course and it's the only 12k I've ever raced. The extra half a hill was nasty, though I liked the downhill bit in the middle.

Came a cropper hurtling down the muddy steps yet picked myself up and kept going. If anyone's unfamiliar with this race, check out the race website for the photos - now that it's a mass start, albeit from the bottom of the hill this year, the sight of 200 runners in various states of fancy dress marauding down the hill must surprise a few new year dog walkers.

The camaraderie around the course and the food and mementoes at the end make this a truly memorable race.

In short: wouldnt miss this for anything !!
In full: some are mad to do this VERY tough and hilly race and some are even madder to come back and do it again... so having been told by my doctor i have a herniated disc and to rest there was no way i should have thought about running this but somehow on new years day morning i found myself liling up for my 5th knacker cracker!! yes this race is so good you just cant miss it...
As always dr.rob used his thought of what goes up must come down but then go up even further and so the extra climb of the zig zag road was hard work but it as great and as in all the previous years very well organised and marshalled.
My only moan was the loss of the moto britains hardest 10k maybe it should now be britains hardest 12k !!
well done rob and team will be back again next year.

In short: First class race. Fantastic scenery, marshalls excellent. Great way to start the year!
In full: First time doing Knacker Cracker and it was so tough. Enjoyed every moment and the support from the crowds at the lookout added to a very special race.

In short: Most challenging 12k for some time which might be explained by the hills, steps, mud and a very late night before - great start to the New Year and uplifting experience
