In short: Decent multi race worth doing In full: A decent race which I nearly didn’t make after getting lost around the numerous narrow lanes of Chedworth, so must agree a better map would assist those who haven’t got a “sat nav”.. However, after the hassle of finding the start it all turned out to be a very worthwhile journey as the race organisation was first rate with lots of support from the marshals and onlookers, especially the large group who gathered at the stream crossing [I wonder why?]. A very well thought-out and challenging course especially in the 2nd half which has a bit of a killer hill towards the end nevertheless, an enjoyable experience. Excellent tea and cakes at the end was very welcome so will probably be back next year to have another go.
In short: Scenic race with a few challenges In full: Really enjoyed this race. The very dry conditions made it almost a PB course although I'm sure in wetter conditions it would be considerably more difficult.
Only one tiny criticism - despite the maps we were sent we had some trouble finding the start as it was not signed as we entered the village. I'm told it's easier if you come from the A429 rather than the A435 as we did. Date of review: April 6, 2009
In full: My first attempt at this one, and only my second race ever. Found it tough, but on reflection, enjoyable. Especially the pint with other club members. Will have to do it again to see if I can beat my time. All in all a good enjoyable very well organised race. Date of review: April 6, 2009
In short: One of the faster off road events, well organised, excellent marshalling and a good course In full: First 4 miles are very flat and quick with the tough stuff definitely coming in the latter part of the race with one notable climb up through the woods that went on and on and on! Good that nearly the entire course is off road, felt it was one of the quicker trail runs i have done thanks to the relatively flat first few miles, just need to hang on in there for the rest. Good event and would do it again. Date of review: April 5, 2009
In short: Fab scenery, few hills to make it worth running. Lovely marshalls In full: Very relaxed atmosphere, with good support from marshalls. Totally gorgeous scenery (a sunny day a bonus). Very reasonably priced tea and cakes after, plus a free bikkie with your pre race cuppa. Only negative was v cramped ladies showers with no room for more than 2 at a time. However, it raised a few laughs, and wont put me off doing this lovely run again. Date of review: April 5, 2009
