In short: Well organised race In full: A little bit chilly, to be expected this time of year. Start a little bit busy but go away OK. Nice flat 2 lap course. Only gripe was finishing straight which went from road onto grass verge for the last 30 metres or so - not great for sprint finish. Apart from that a well organised and enjoyable event. In short: Great race, worth braving the November weather for In full: Really enjoyed this race. Well signposted to race HQ from a mile or so out which is good. Facilities at Swindon Karting are good too. Only the 4th race I have ever done but my favourite so far, and I ran a good PB! They give you jelly babies at 5k and 9k which is nice too :) Date of review: November 21, 2010
In short: I enjoyed it and I'll do it again next year. I did a PB so its quite quick even with the long hill which you go up twice!! In full: Car Parking was a bit congested but not as bad as it looked. Facilities almost non-existent. Friendly runners. Started late. Start was a bit far from car park. The weather was wet but cleared up. Overall a bit basic but enjoyable. Date of review: November 27, 2009
In short: Very good race & nicely organised by grassroots. In full: Slight delay at the start as many people arrived within a few minutes of the race starting. Nice two lap course that is almost as flat as you can get - bit exposed though so you have to expect a little weather. Good mix of abilities. Date of review: November 24, 2009
In short: Not an easy race in that weather In full: First of all I echo the sentiment that this race would be better held in the spring, or perhaps in September when the weather is kinder as despite some deceptive inclines there is definite PB potential here.
Very well organised as I would expect from Grass Roots events but there needs to be some cut off point for accepting on the day entries. I'm not sure I get these people who turn up 15 minutes before the start expecting to still be able to register.
Nice touches were the raffle at the start and the announcement that there was a gentleman of 81 competing in the race - an inspiration to the rest of us.
Thanks as always to the organisers and the marshals for putting on a brave face despite the conditions. Date of review: November 24, 2009
