In short: Challenging race, ideal for seasoned off roaders, good as an intorduction to off roading, something that will boost your training and racing goals.
In full: This is the type of run that will help to build your strength and stamina and is recommended for those wanting to maintain their fitness as the cross country season comes to a close and the road and track season draws closer. Ideally you need studded off road shoes to cope - soft studded would be best. Its a great race if you are used to multi terrain /cross country league races and if you are not it is a great introduction to these type of races. Good challenging course, lovely scenery and first rate organisation. You feel satisfied at the end that you have completed what is a challenging race. Thanks to marshalls who kept their posts in poor weather. Well worth the journey from Birmingham.

In short: Mud Glorious Mud!
In full: This was my first cross country (multi terrain) race in over 9 yrs and I did not know how thoroughly enjoyable it was. I personally knocked over 3 mins off my pb time for the 10km even with the rain and the mud - god knows what I could do on the road!! Everyone must do this race once in their life!!

In short: Mud
In full: The mud was so bad, I couldn't run...let alone walk. Kept slipping and shoes came off at one point!! On a nice day, this race would've been excellent. When it rains...stay away. :o)

In short: mud splashed up to my waist - but I was left smiling all day!
In full: I did this race last year, and was very encouraged that this time the infamous hill did not seem half so bad! The race is very well organised with efficient entries on the day. My only complaint was that the start happened very suddenly. There was no announcement to say that it was about to happen - we were standing in the field for 5 minutes, then the buzzer suddenly went off. But I would recommend this race highly, though not if you're chasing a PB as the mud really slows you down in places. It is worth bearing in mind that the final kilometre is round a VERY muddy field, so don't bother saving anything for the end - put on an extra burst before that as you will be almost walking on the slippy parts till you get to the last 100m or so.

In short: Enjoyable, worth doing, enjoyed all the mud and water
In full: Good course with the 10K over 2 lapsmud and water made it very tough, espically on second lap. Cross country trainers a must, bad enogh to get a grip with those on, so without who knows.
