In short: Tougher course than I imagined, with fighting wind! In full: Lack of spectators when away from main start/finish area made some places on course very quiet and mentally challenging. Tough wind seemed to be on you whichever direction you ran it. Last mile felt like I was standing still! Would probably do it again as good experience. Organisation was very good and it all went very smoothly and great value apart from huge t-shirt I'll never wear! Date of review: March 15, 2010

In short: OK but not as good as I thought it would be. In full: Everything went as planned. Well organised and everything straitforward. Course was more undulating than expected, with that last mile uphill into the wind a killer. Date of review: March 15, 2010

In short: Very well organised but shame its 9.30am the day after and still no results In full: Arrived and left early and drove straight in and out of the car park. Plenty of loos and drinks stations with 330ml bottles which is ideal. Mile markers were excellent - visible with huge clocks. Course is pretty flat but v exposed in parts which is hard when its windy like this year. Last mile - is an absolute killer - uphill and massive head wind !
Only 2 gripes - t-shirts all XL so no use to huge majority of the field - could at least have XL and medium say - and its 9.45 the day after and STILL no race reports or results. Date of review: March 15, 2010

In short: Well organised, shame about wind but nice and sunny! In full: This was my first half marathon and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Other runners were very friendly and made it a much more enjoyable run.
Toilet facilities best I've ever encountered at a race, water and lucozade sport stops well placed, shame the wind was in my face for the last mile or so but not much can be done about the weather, and it was a lovely sunny day. Date of review: March 15, 2010

In short: well organised, flat and great value race In full: It is incredibly well organised, loads of toilets, space, great goody bag, the drinks stations well manned (the water station just after mile 7 was particularly encouraging and vocal), and its a flat course. The only trouble is the lack of support in the crucial last couple of miles from any sort of crowd, and because its an air field when the wind blows it can really tire you and pull you back, a crowd would help lift you here. Compared to Bath last week which was crowded at the start and finish and expensive this one gets my vote. The only other point to be aware of is my garmin measured 13.36 miles so even though I did an average 9:10 min/miles I ended up 2 and a half minutes over my 2 hour target. There is room to run further than you need to on the nice wide track basically! Date of review: March 15, 2010

In short: Too windy and very dull! In full: The thought of running around a Grand Prix was exciting but in reality it was extremely dull. You go round the corner and it's more track or if you're lucky a pile of tyres. The course is pretty flat but it's so exposed when the wind picks up it's horrible, felt like you're running up a very steep hill! On the plus side the organisation is very good and at £15 it's good value for money. Date of review: March 15, 2010

In short: This race is exceptional value for money, well organised with great facilities including parking, toilets race timing throughout course, ample drinks stations and good support and marshalling. All for only £13! Date of review: March 15, 2010

In short: Very Well Organised and excellent value for money In full: ALthough a little windy on the day the weather has been a lot worse in the past. Although the last mile had the best of the head wind making it a very difficult one. Parking for me worked like clockwork with no queues on the way out. Excellent bagage storage facilities which agin worked excellent when collecting at the end of the race.
May I thank the very nice fellow runner (cannot remember her number 531*)for the present she kindly gave me on the last mile of the run. Only she will know what I am referring to, apology accepted......

In short: well organized with 10 000 runners, this year it was very windy, T shirt enormous, nice medal In full: Yes, there were delays in and out venue, but we were told to leave extra time for that in advance. With 10 000 runners I would call it very well organised, though. You could leave your bag at the start/finish and it was very well organized, again, no waiting at all getting it in and back. The icy wind killed me, the atmosphere is not that huge as with a good downtown race. Toilet facilities and water/lucozade were great and plenty, exceptional. Date of review: March 15, 2010
