In short: brilliant distance, shame we were hidden away down some cycle path
In full: really enjoyed the challenge of a 13.1km run. nice distance, not too far, not too short.

good race organisation, well marshalled, clear sign posting, excellent smooth finish.

But...

would have loved some music at the start. the microphone guy was trying really hard but it was a bit flat without accompaniment.

the route was a secluded path along through edinburgh that took in no tourist sights, a shame for such a pretty city and had very little opportunities/locations for what few supporters there were. and the extra bit round the outside of the stadium for the 13.1km bit was rubbish. necessary, i appreciate, but rubbish all the same.

special mention to the co-op men handing out chocolate bars for free just before we arrived at murrayfield. whoop whoop! much appreciated fellas.

:)

In short: Not a bad run but could do with a few more runners and supporters
In full: I thought that the run was very scenic and had I not been running would have loved to have taken a picture as we crossed over the forth bridge. I felt very good for the first 10 miles/16k but then there was a long incline to get up and my legs starting to go a little the last 10k were challenging and I was very pleased to have finished. This is the longest run I've done to date - I'm already signed up for the one in London to see if I can better my time!

In short: I enjoyed it especially for the scenery/route but they need to sort some stuff out
In full: I really enjoyed this, never done a Kilomathon before so was a bit apprehensive, but this was more than made up for with the lovely route. I'm confused by the person who said it was better in Derby or Nottingham - surely if that's the case they should have entered the English race and not Kilomathon SCOTLAND!!! And I do wish people would stop moaning about T shirts and goody bags - surely neither is a major issue, not why we run. Yes indeed organisation was a bit iffy. Ingliston is not the easiest place to get to/from unless you were going back into Edinburgh on the shuttle buses and many of us were not. Toilets too - not nearly enough at the start - what's more the portaloos I went to had no water! Apart from that, I had a lovely morning, over the Forth bridge and back, raised a good sum for charity and will probably do it again if they can get the organisation sorted out.

In short: Very nice race, better than last year.
In full: Difficult to compare this one to last years as the route was completely different. This run was by far a whole lot better and with a bit of luck will be kept for next year. I found the organisation very good with few complaints. Perhaps a few more toilets at start but being a bloke got fast tracked to the gents only urinals jumping the queue. A bit on the pricy side but if route stays the same then I'll be back. Managed to take 32 minutes of my time so very happy.....

In full: what a shame this race was nothing like last years, no atmosphere at the start, its a good job the entries were low with only 20 toilets with long queues, loads of blokes using the woods, not very nice for the people who live in the area,i did like the route though, and the marshals and supporters were very good, i thought the t shirt and goody bag were very dissapointing and the entry price obviously put loads of people off, the organisers need to put these issues right to keep this race in the calendar

In full: 2nd year doing this and i would say i wish i hadn't bothered, marshalls were excellent and water stops were good although energy drinks were a joke no wonder the amount of runners had dropped from 4000+ finishers last year to just 950 this.
last years route was much better, made it more interesting to say you'd run from nottingham to derby

In short: Good marathon preparation and friendly participants
In full: The race itself ran very smoothly but the buses at the start ran very late with our bus leaving just after 8. Had a big que for the loos and only made the start line with 3mins to spare despite turning into the car park at 0710.
Travel arranegemnts aside the route itself was better than last year and the stadium finish a good touch.
Would i do it again? Maybe, but only as marathon prep not as a stand alone race.
