In short: Typical Portsmouth weather made it a real challenge!
In full: The wind and rain made this race a real challenge, but also added to the atmosphere as runners looked at each other with "what on earth are we doing??" expressions.

The multi-terrain element made it a lot of fun, and combined with the weather I'm surprised that anyone would get near a PB, but I didn't have any expectations of that.

I found it to be well organised, decent medal and reasonable goodie bag, and a very fair price. I'd love to try it again on a sunnier day when the scenery might appear to better advantage!

No real gripes - it was a tough run and something different from the half-marathons I've done previously, and although the field seemed to be mostly experienced runners, there was certainly a smattering of fun runners too and the overall atmosphere was one of good cameraderie.

In short: Enjoyable, wet & muddy race
In full: Inspite of the weather, the off-road sections & the mud I managed a PB so well pleased.

In short: nice race, enjoyed the weather!
In full: It was my first half marathon and I loved it. I loved the weather and the off road section, mud on the beach, it was great. I'm a trail runner so no amount of mud is a problem to me or rain for that matter. Well done marshalls for putting up with the weather, great local encouragement from the public, passing people must have throught we were all barmy to go out in this weather. The only 2 down points for me: put in the race info that car parking machines do not accept notes, I only had a five pound note on and the bar has run out of coins, it took me 30 minutes to find enough money to pay for my car in coins.
The other point is ridiculous raffle like pieces of paper for baggage, mine flew out of my pocket, should be based on the race number and we should have been given tags with out race numbers to put on.
Overall very pleased with myself as in those conditions got pretty good time and I was running with injury too.

In short: A superb challenge - windy, wet, muddy but not too cold, still fast and fun. Thanks to the marshals too.
In full: I enjoyed this run immensely. Having heeded the weather forecast and dressed accordingly, the mid-winter coastal weather was not a problem. I got a real buzz from the multi-terrain (occasionally muddy and wet but easily negotiated), but also, the downwind flat miles were fast. Mile 12-13 is directly upwind but that's when you know you're nearly home, so who cares?
Well done marshals and organisers - the hot soup at the finish was a really nice touch. I'll be back next year for sure.
