In short: A truly wonderful race and weren't we lucky with the weather!!
In full: This is the 3rd time I have done this race and it will certainly not be the last. After the wind and rain last year and the threat of snow and sub-zero temperatures this year the organisers got the weather absolutely spot on.
Everything went like clockwork from the picking up of the chips at the start to the soup at the finish. I see some runners are complaining about the lack of encouragement from the Marshalls which I must disagree with. All the marshalls had a cheery wave and words of encouragement apart from a couple who were concentrating on doing their job by making sure nobody got knocked over at a number of road junctions. Even then a quick word of thanks on the way past raised a smile on their (cold) faces. How anybody could get lost is beyond me as even I would struggle to lose the best part of 1000 people dressed in day-glow on a clear Sunday morning.
So to finish off, a fantastic race where any profits go to the RNLI.
I am surprised nobody has mentioned the fly-by by the RNLI Sea King helicopter or was that just my imagination. See you next year.

In short: well organised, flat course, some slightly challenging terrain
In full: Course is flat, mostly on roads and pavement with a short section on the beach. Beach section wasn't too bad so don't let that put you off.

Race was well organised and good value for a chip-timed half marathon. Will probably be back next year.

In short: A very nice race
In full: I can't believe the comments about the terrain. This is clearly advertised as mixed, and come on guys the shingle bit is only about 500m tops. Anyone who's done a bit of trail will find this a piece of cake.

The scenery is good, varied and interesting. Organisation is top notch. Medal could be better, but hey knocking 5 mins off my PB made up for that.

In short: Freindly and well organised.
In full: Some reviews seem to be for Decembers Full marathon not the February Coastal Half.
This is a well organised and friendly event. The terrain is not too challenging, although some runners did seem concerned about the beach section. Changing facilities are good and the soup at the end was welcome.

In short: Flat, interesting, friendly
In full: My first half marathon and right on my doorstep. I enjoyed it and didn't have any problems with finding my way on the course. Did appreciate the big bowls of jelly beans at the water stations - they helped me finish!

In short: A bit repetitive at times, but overall a nice run.
In full: A nice run with good scenery. Unlike some others on this site, I had no problem finding the right route, and it was my first time running this route. The only negative point is you will run certain stretches of road twice which can be a bit bland but when you've got the sea to your right/left you can't really complain too much.

In short: very little support and very few marshals
In full: I was looking forward to this one as I like Portsmouth and was settled knowing it would be a flat run - the terrain though - ouch - running across slushy shingle and rocks was not pleasant and my joints are shouting at me now. A few of the marshals were very encouraging and smiled and cheered - the rest were clearly not happy to be there, but then it was cold. It's a shame as on so many previous events the marshals have given me that lift to push a bit harder. Tough terrain but pleasant scenery.

In short: Excellent race - lovely scenery - have already entered for 2013!
In full: Lovely race - got a pb despite falling over on the gravel path at mile 5! thank you to the 2 ladies who helped me back up again. perfect weather for the seafront - cold but not windy/rainy like it normally is! will definitely be back next year.
