In short: Brilliant first time marathon
In full: Fantastic first marathon to me. Great organisation and support from the marshalls and crowds throughout. Maybe not enough portoloos, but then again there never are enough, no matter which race you attend. A busy race, but was able to run as soon as I passed the start line and thinned out a lot. Plenty of water and fuel stops. There are a couple of hills in the first 10 miles, but nothing too horrific. Some lovely scenic parts of the route, only marred by a few miles around the power station in the last third of the route. Great atmosphere especially along the seafront. Highly recommended!

In short: Brilliant atmosphere, amazing local support, great organisation, loved it
In full: My first marathon & I loved every minute. Well organised with loads of volunteers (thank you all), start and finish line like clockwork for me, plentiful water and fuel stops. I enjoyed the route, hills weren't too bad and second half totally flat, agree power station section a bit bleak but still great support out there. What really made the race was the brilliant atmosphere from other runners and particularly from spectators. The people of Brighton were really behind the race and provided superb noisy cheering support all round the route. Having my name on my vest was great, hearing so many people cheering me on was emotional and gave a massive boost, I smiled the whole way around. A huge thank you to the organisers, volunteers and spectators.

In short: Brighton cheerful
In full: A few niggles...
Queue for loos at the start far too long
Start funnels didn't work with wrong coloured numbers allowed in faster starts.
Pacers not much use due to pen congestion
Water pouches instead of bottles a good idea but I found them hard to drink from
Shoreham loop at the toughest point was depressing, if it has to be used it should be when legs are fresh.
Apart from that it was brilliant...
Support from locals not just friends and family was great.
Nutition and water provision excellent
Baggage service faultless
Medal and T shirt top quality

In short: A few hills first half, flat second half. Miles 19-23 at the power station are a bit of a slog. Otherwise good atmosphere.

In short: amazing crowds, great organisation and a great course!
In full: This was my second year running Brighton and I loved it! The crowds were absolutely fantastic, so encouraging and really helped drag me round when I crashed at mile 18. Lots more support at the power station end this year which made a big difference and I'm glad they took out the extra hill at Ovingean. No PB for me this year but nevertheless I thoroughly enjoyed the day and the organisation was excellent. I lost my number on race morning and it was very easy to get a new one. We also used the park and ride and found it very good. Thanks Brighton for another fab marathon! Highly recommended!!

In short: The highlight of my racing calendar
In full: This is the third year I have done the Brighton Marathon and I enjoy it more and more each year and definitely an event not to be missed. A superb event from start to finish - the organisation runs like clockwork, the route is scenic and the second half of the race is flat although some hilly parts in the first half of the race. The crowds are superb - I ran for Macmillan this year and had my name on my t-shirt and it makes such a difference to hear someone shout your name with encouragement whether at mile 1 or 21. Also I lost count of the number of people who came up to me after the race as I was walking from the finish through the town centre to congratulate me on completing the marathon! Thank you to everyone who makes this event such a pleasure to run - the organisers, the stewards/marshalls, the fantastic crowds, the entertainment en route. A wonderful day and yes its still 26.2 miles and hard but the whole atmosphere helps you to get round and the cheering/crowd support to get you through the last mile as you see the pier getting closer and closer takes your mind off the "everything is hurting" syndrome! I ran a personal best yesterday and look forward to next year. Have not done FLM but would rather run Brighton than London. Thanks Brighton - you know how to put on an event! Faultless.

In short: Fantastic atmosphere that gives you that extra lift with the added bonus of coastal scenery.
In full: A great marathon made even more special by the great support from the people of Brighton and Hove. Not too hilly, but some long gentle coastal slopes added a bit of a challenge. Well done to all concerned - can't wait to do the next one.

In short: Top, top event
In full: Fabulously well organised event in near-perfect weather.

BM team did themselves proud again with a brilliantly organised event.
-good atmosphere at the Preston Park start, and even the loo queues were reasonable
-rapid results service through the BM app
-excellent marshalling of the start pens (unusual !)
-well spaced and varied feed stations
-hundreds of cheery marshals
-good crowd control with more barriers this year (still a few idiots who like o play chicken with runners, but no way the organiser can legislate for that)
-good finish area, quick return of baggage and easier exit from the area this year

Well done to all concerned - impressive stuff and thanks for a good day out
