In short: The car rules this race.
In full: This half marathon was totally spoilt by bad traffic planning, as only the roads leading from the start and to the finish, were partially closed. All other roads, about 10 miles, were fully open to two-way traffic. On some stretches we were told by marshals to run single file in the gutter to allow cars to edge passed. It was dangerous and not what you would expect of such a large race. Why didn’t they apply for road closures like any other race? Absolutely appalling!

In short: Excellent organisation and good crowds
In full: I raced this in 1997 and 1998, but haven't been back since.....pleased to say that it's gone from strength to strength. Organisation is excellent, crowds enthusiastic, more marshalls and water stations than I remember. The only downside seemed to be more cars on the route, but there's not a lot the organisers can do about that other than arrange an earlier start time - but do we want that? Thank you Brentwood.

In short: Nice
In full: GREAT medal.
Not so good on the water stations as the cups were only filled with 1.5 inches of water and not quite enough.
Traffic was a nuisance throughout the run.
The first few miles were very overcrowded and I kept getting elbowed.
BUT very well organised, great medal, some nice countryside, great atmosphere.

In short: Great local event
In full: Very well-organised loacal race. Marching band at start a nice touch and added to the atmosphere. Can't really grumble about parking as i live on the start line! Water stations were plentiful, but might be an idea to have bottles as cups are impossible to drink out of on the move! Undualting course, but what goes up invaribaly comes down!

All in all, a fantastic event.

In short: Good way to spend a Sunday morning
In full: Second time I have run this so was aware of the route, which is nice. Friendly atmosphere and the marshals did a good job of controlling the junctions. My only criticism is the parking otherwise most enjoyable.

In short: Nice course and plenty of support
In full: Well organised, good support especially through villages and towards the end. Plenty of drink stops which was needed - think the heat caught a few people out including me.... just get the car parking sorted and then it'll be 100%....

In short: A great day, well organised
In full: A great race with a lovely vibe. The 1st two miles are fast downhill and caught a few people out in the latter stages, Esp the killer hill at 12.5 miles! Lots of water stations, thankfully as it was warmer than expected. Police did not close the roads but the marshals did a fantastic job in the town and the country roads a quiet anyway. Support in the little vilages was xlnt, even kids handing out jelly babies! A great day, a great race and a PB to boot..roll on London!
