In short: Very warm day for a Marathon. Would be a good Marathon for a PB on a cooler day.

In short: Flat course with PB potential
In full: Some great elements to this race, with very supportive and friendly marshals, good, if at time sparse, local support, loads of water stations and a superb atmosphere at the start/finish. Only negatives were the weather (no-one would expect such heat in October and the race organisers can't control it!) and at tines there was a bit of congestion with cars on the course. Definitely worth doing though.

In short: Excellent organisation and brilliant marshalls made the day! Will be back next time..
In full: This had the potential to be a nightmare first full marathon for me due to the unseasonal heat but the organisers had thought this whole thing out and provided extra water all the way round, the marshalls were brilliant, and the support from residents/holdaymakers really made the day.

No problems finding the venue, we arrived a bit late to park at the school but hubby was able to move the car once the runners had all set off.

I personally had a very positive experience and am hoping for a cooler day next year so I can slice at leat 30 minutes off my time!

In short: Easiest course you'll come across to chase a PB, marvellouse support from marshalls, locals and seasiders.
In full: What a fabulous race. There were loads of marshalls out all over the course, and what struck me was that every single one of them ventured words of encouragement to me as I went past, right to the end. It really does make a difference. The locals and daytrippers were also really supportive, despite my increasingly neanderthal replies as the race reached melting point.
Was extremely grateful for the copious amounts of bottled water, as I've ran a few marathons where you're handed just half a plastic cup of water every 3 miles, which just isn't enough for me - I must have downed around five litres yesterday all in all.
This course is made for PB running. However, with any marathon you have to earn a fast time and my legs just wouldn't respond after the 20 mile mark. I'd like to blame it on the scorching conditions but that wouldn't be fair - my tailing off was due to insufficient training fair and square.
Oh - and not to forget the guy with the mike at the finish line who made us all feel very special as we crossed the line, however bedraggled. If Carlsberg made PA announcers...
Congratulations and thanks to all the organisers and helpers. We will be back next year a bit fitter and stronger hopefully.

In short: Good PB potential just let down on a very hot day by 3 water points. A lot of people looked very dehydrated!
