In short: Good race, good atmosphere, but some organisational glitches that were frustrating. In full: Overall this was a great race--I really enjoyed the route, the marshalls were fantastic and very encouraging which was much appreciated. The facilities at the start and finish were great.
However, I thought the facilities along the route were lacking. The event website clearly states that there would be 4 water points along the route, but there were in fact only 3 and none after mile 8. I was expecting 4 and planned my water intake based on this, and was hurting for some liquids pretty badly by the time I got to the end. In addition, the website clearly states that runners would be able to take bottles or cups of water from the water points, but at the last water point I was refused a bottle by the marshalls handing out water--they told me they were not allowed to hand out bottles. Pretty frustrating when I'd been given bottles at both the previous water points.
And my last gripe is that there was not a single loo along the course--it's all well and good for the blokes running who could just wee against a tree/hedgerow, but for the ladies this was a bit more awkward and rather uncomfortable. I would have expected at least one loo along the route. Even worse is that none of the marshalls knew whether there were any loos or not! Date of review: March 12, 2012

In short: Really enjoyed it. Not PB potential .... In full: Community Stadium Great venue to start and finish. Good facilities, good parking, easy to get to and from. Great marshalls, enthusiasm was infectious. We ran at the back (11min/mile) and the traffic was being let through very early we felt, especially coming down northern approach road at the beginning where I would say it was dangerous. Apart from that it was great. I assume it was organised by volunteers but was every bit as professionally organised as some of the 'Great' runs I've done. Still waiting for chip times to appear on website. Well done team. Date of review: March 12, 2012

In full: Second year for this race, and the new single lap course made this a pleasure. Much easier for supporters to stroll from the start into the town centre to cheer you on, and the back to the finish to encourage you over the finish line. Friendly atmosphere and stadium with ample loos means no queues, helps to ease pre-race nerves. Date of review: March 12, 2012

In short: Hills not too bad. Great marshalling. Did not see all the mile markers. Great atmosphere with lots of spectators at the top of North Hill and the stadium. Goody bag dismal. Date of review: March 12, 2012

In short: Good mix of town and countryide In full: Enjoyed the run and liked running North Hill and Ipswich Road. Marshalls were superb, enthusiatic and encouraging all the way round!
Goody bad and medal were a let down and in some places traffic was let through where maybe it should not have been (trouble point being the latter half of the race) Date of review: March 11, 2012

In short: Race good, expected the hill...GREAT Marshals!! In full: Good organisation, plenty of facilities....refreshments expensive! Very disappointed with the cheap medal, not even a date on it... more like a child would receive for a fun run! Goody bag?? cheap little hand towel and a mars bar. Could do better. In short: Very well organised and well-located race. In full: Great organisation for this first race. Facilities were excellent for the number of entrants - no wait for the loos etc which is a real bonus! I agree with others who have said the end was difficult due to having to double back, but not a real issue. Well done to the organisers - but hope that the number of entrants don't increase and damage the organisational aspect of this event. Date of review: March 29, 2011

In short: Fast with a wicked twist at the end In full: Loved this race, fun and fast, and great a great goody bag at the end. I will be back next year as the twist at the end took the wind out of my sails abit!! PB for me so well happy. Date of review: March 29, 2011

In short: well organised, nice flat course In full: Impressively organised for a first time event, and didnt seem too bad having to run two laps.
Would agree with others that the finish was a bit of killer! I'd definitely run it again, and would know what to expect next time, but it would be nice if we could get those extra yards out of the way somewhere along the course and have a straight finish at the stadium. In short: A nice race, well organized and friendly. In full: The return stretch of road from the furtherst part of the loop was a bit straight and boring, but otherwise a fun race, especially the bit at the end where people who hadn't checked the route beforehand realised there was a little bit more to go- the looks on their faces!
