In short: Nice countryside well organised, great supporters in the villages and at the finish
In full: Great first staging of the event, undulating course keeps you working all the time. Only problem was the start as said by previous reviewers (sort this out and it will be a cracking race). Brilliant support in Whttington and other suupporters dotted along the route.

In full: Excellent run which was well organised. Achieved a PB which was good considering how hot it was. Not many supporters on route apart from the start and finish. The people were very quiet. However a very enjoyable event.

In short: Well done Lichfield
In full: Overall this was a great event and I will do it agin next year. The start needs to be changed as it was most bizzare when there was a massive open field next to it. I too, also wondered why the '200 metres to go' sign was well after the 13 mile marker ?
Having said this, it was a nice route, far more scenic than B'ham and Wolves Half Marathons and the marshalls seemed very friendy as did the vocal residents of Whittington - it was NOT a flat race, the long slow inclines were not exactly hills but i would have prefered to know before the race, overall a massive thumbs up though from me - if the conditions were cooler this would be pb heaven!

In short: Good mixed route through countryside, villages, and parts of Lichfield
In full: It was quite a windy day, but perhaps that it was the only thing that prevented it from being really hot. The start was a bit odd, but seemed to work OK. The atmosphere at the end was great, as was the support through the villages. The course does undulate a lot more than I expected - up and over bridges etc. The only thing that puzzled me was why the '200 metres to go' sign was well after the 13 mile marker ?

In short: Extremely friendly and charming run through lovely countryside
In full: Great race, my first small event (1300 entrants) and I loved it. It winds through glorious countryside with pockets of genuinely friendly spectators (and children with water pistols). There were 3 water stations, an SIS sports drink station and a wet sponge station which was needed as it was a baking hot day. The course is undulating but no huge hills just gentle up and downs over canal bridges. Despite the heat I scored a very healthy PB. Nice medal at the end, banana, water, sports drink and supplements. Great all round race ending near the cathedral in central Lichfield which is a lively little city (Market Town) with lots of charming old pubs. Highly recommended and very central fir meeting with friends.

In short: Well organised, friendly and with pb potential
In full: Very enjoyable race - start was a bit chaotic but did not detract from the race. Lovely scenery and friendly villagers, especially the small person with the water cannon - most welcome! Great support at the finish. The heat was draining but water stops and sponges certainly helped. Beat my previous pb by half an hour, so I'll be coming back!
