In short: Challenging last few miles very enjoyable though.
In full: Thanks to all those behind the scenes and the marshalls for their efforts especially on the more challenging crossings.Don't agree with some of the negative comments, allot of people give their time freely to put on events such as these. Marshalls could have done without some people not following instructions at the busier crossings.

In short: Unexpectedly testing
In full: Well organised event run in beautiful weather today. Enjoyed and felt it, both during and after. Most halfs are much easier than this course but it left a good sense of achievement afterwards. The marshalling was excellent, especially on the two road crossings in the approach to mile 5. I expect there were a lot of disgruntled motorists in that area.

In short: If you like a hilly half-marathon, this is your best friend...
In full: Not yet two months into my marathon training so knew it would be tough, but had a go...Too hilly for me, although marshalls were helpful on the day by stopping cars and ensuring runners could pass.

In full: Traffic was a major issue--it was a nice sunny day and there was rather lots of traffic on the roads. The pavement was very narrow at places which made it literally impossible to overtake slow runners. No chance of beating my PB! Also, there were many holes on the pavement so one had to take great care in order to not risk any injury.

In short: Well organised - plenty of marshals and water stations - but takes its toll on you
In full: No especially long, arduous hills, but quite a bit of up and down which took it out on me early on. Race seemed to go like clockwork otherwise, and a nice number of local supporters lining the way and providing encouragement on the running track at the end.

In short: Tough Slog, but well worth the effort
In full: No problems personally, but there does need to be a few more marshals at junctions, especially at larger side roads. There were a few incidents being discussed afterwards.

Where were all the Essex club runners, (inside M25 excepted)?

In short: A good half
In full: Again a very good well organised race, everything like clockwork (well done)
but needs a better medal for a half marathon!
